I know they're catering to different markets, but just as a for-instance, Steelcase wants 1500USD for this. Being an aficionado of the simple wood table, I would never buy one of these desks, but 2K for a computer desk that is built from the ground-up with the enthusiast in mind sounds pretty reasonable. Besides, it's not like they're pumping them out of a factory 5000 units an hour or something; people that buy this, I am sure will look at the 2K price tag and not even blink.
Edit: hey, I just quantum-entangled the manufacturer's response. Cool!

















(won't be able to afford one for a few years, and this passing the girlfriend test will be quite difficult, but it'll happen...)
I'm excited to see what other people do with it.
