Usually I'll fight to the death, but considering the headaches I've had getting my wireless router and my 8port switch to cooperate, I've decided to turn to the helpful folks here for some hopeful guidance.
My buddy gave me this board with a cpu to add to my folding farm. I got it all set up, installed xp x64, everything seemed fine. However, when I attempt to connect to the internet, I get nothing. No access to local computers, no access to the net.
I've tried 3 different ethernet cards, one being from my main system so I was positive it worked. I tried re-formatting as well, just for the heck of it, and still nothing.
Any Ideas? The other 5 systems connected to the switch are working perfectly, and if I disconnect the wire coming directly from the router and connect it to this particular system, still nothing.
I hope I selected the correct forum, I was surprised OCN doesn't have a specific networking forum.
