[iGG] Fans Who Purchased Mass Effect 3 Via Amazon Are Getting Full Refunds - Page 17

You have to wait until the end of the game to find out the company lied about the content of the game, but because of that you're ineligible for a refund? Horrible logic. Of course you're entitled to a refund. You can claim the product is defective as it doesn't do as advertised and get a refund. It's wholly legitimate and people like yourself need to realise the same rights extend to you. The product isn't dangerous or anything, so if you are happy to keep it that's your choice, but you should know (now, after this fact in the article) that you are entitled to a refund.
That is the very definition of voting with your wallet. This is even BETTER than not buying it in the first place by a factor of a million because first the sale is that and because of the BS, now it's gone. It's fantastic for the consumer and it's about time people stopped mindlessly defending companies or assigning rights to them that don't exist.
Oh and yeah, student games programmer here. I totally agree with this refund and I totally agree Bioware screwed up. If I am part of a team that makes a game that receives this amount of backlash I'll be upset. Upset with the team and upset with the idiots that made those decisions (since it'll just be my job to shoot down technical ideas that aren't feasible and program the stuff they want).

It's buyer's remorse -- Period.
There was no false advertising...The game was developed ~ You bought the game to play it and you USED the product.
I direct you to my Ferrari analogy previous to this.
Guy buys a Ferrari because in the commercial the Ferrari is floating in space. Guy drives Ferrari 7,500 miles then comes to the conclusion, he's not happy because it's not floating in space. He attempts to return it and he's denied...He's used the car, it's not new anymore...
You bought a game because the previous 2 were "awesome" and "omg bbqqqqq"...You opened the game, installed the game, USED THE SERIAL...On what planet have you not "driven" or "used" that product?
Enlighten us all...please...
You were promised NOTHING beyond being entertained which, until the end of the game you were.
This is a horrible precedent and a disgusting one.

He took the words right out of my mouth. Well said, Masked. I'm going to leave you to continue arguing with the numerous other people who see how this is wrong. There is nothing wrong with what Bioware did here.

Seriously, I can't stand a lot of the gaming community now a days. Everyone acts like they're special, that they deserve much more than they're given. It's like they're just looking for things to whine about.

All of the awesome memories and gameplay of the first two games, the excellent pacing and adrenaline rush from the third, all completely and utterly ruined by what is, single handedly, the worst ending in video game history.
Your loss.

That's just one less whiner in the gaming community. Now if only we could get rid of all the others...

Opinions don't change the facts.

The fact is the user was entitled to a refund as are many, many more people. Those that choose not to use that right should also choose to stay quiet when others do. It might be buyers remorse, but it's backed up by law thumb.gif

Why are people in this thread trying to stop others from disliking/wanting to return the game?

My friends got a refund after watching 30 minutes of Kung Pow: Enter The Fist movie. The movie was terrible to them.

I got a refund from Taco Bell after they gave me a Grilled Stuffed Steak Burrito without any steak inside.

Consumers have rights. It is quite interesting to hear biased fanatics telling other people they are wrong and should give up their consumer rights.

That's thirty minutes of what was most likely a 1 1/2 movie. They didn't watch it all the way through and say "Okay, now lets go take this back since it was crappy." They demoed it.

Taco Bell got your order wrong. You requested this, and they gave you something else.

In those situations, you're not in the wrong. But in the ME3 situation, you would be.

No, he wouldn't. The amount of time play is totally irrelevant. The quality of the product is ALL that matters.

Seriously you people are nuts.

so this just makes me laugh because all I can picture are the GameFLy commercials where the guy says "sick of buying terrible games?" and all the gamers are screaming and freaking out.....frankly I don't think they should get their money back...they have every right to be angry and mad at Bioware for making the game ending garbage, but that doesn't mean that the fans should get their money back....

Well, they are regardless of your opinion thumb.gif

I seriously cannot believe the sheer number of you people complaining about this. This is a good thing for all of you and empowers gamers. You should all be out in support of this, but instead you're all condeming it! No wonder gamers are getting shafted left and right.

Well, this is a nice trend. Gamers whine more and more about every little thing they don't like, and now people are getting their money back if they play through a game and don't like it. Hey, all the more reason to complain right? tongue.gif

Seriously, what happened to the days when we actually bothered to research products if we weren't sure if we wanted them? Has consumer entitlement ever been as high as it is right now?
