I got so frustrated trying to get it working only to have another patch come out and render my fixes/mods useless that I just don't care about it anymore.

See, THIS is a reason to complain. Not because you got your panties in a bunch over a story twist that doesn't fit your expectations, but because the game doesn't f'ing work right.

I'd much rather people send the message they want fully working, thought out, functional and well designed products and drive that message home than confuse developers with **** about how we didn't really like an ending in a game.

If the next battlefield game has twice as much of a single player with a wonderful ending, but the multiplayer is even buggier AND has a subscription fee, you guys will know why. Hopefully you'll remember this post. lol

ANYTHING?
Really, there are much worse things in the game industry than being disappointed that an ending didn't turn out the way you had imagined or the way some 12 year old's fanfic on deviant art said it would. I'm not saying that you shouldn't complain, I'm just suggesting that gamers pick their battles and actually pursue things that matter first.
Developers/publishers won't change overnight, prioritize the messages you want to send them.
I was only reiterating what had been said. I honestly don't know what they've said, but I was coming from the perspective (even if I didn't say so) that if what was said was true... that they had been promised some kind of ending, or such, and that it didn't come about, then it's a fair thing to want your money back.

I'm probably not going to buy the game now, after the negative news about it. I loved the first game and the second, and I liked the ending, but it doesn't sound like I'm going to like this...

What is so terrible about the ending of ME3? I don't want anyone to spoil it for me, in case I actually buy it, my friend loves the game?

You need to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to get the "good" ending.

That's what everyone is crying about. They they expected to get the "good" ending without much effort / previous investment. Since that isn't the case they're looking for reasons to justify their claim that bioware is somehow in the wrong rather than just sucking it up and living with the "poor" ending or doing the steps requires to get the "good" one.

It's like they've never heard of youtube... or books.

So ill state again, there are worse things in today's game industry than someone who doesn't like the ending to the game. It would be nice if people could realize this.

So... there is a good ending? I jump through all the hoops and make sure everyone lives and I save everyone I can (like that space creature thingy in #1, the queeny thing), so maybe I'll give the game a shot.

Well it's debatable if you would consider it good. But there is a BETTER ending and it requires you to do a whole lot of hoop jumping and ALMOST requires multiplayer and game saves from ME2. Almost... you don't quite need them if you do EVERYTHING else perfect.

The point is its not really the end of the world. Stories will inevitably have endings people don't like. Its just the nature of people's subjective opinions. All the endings in ME3 are reasonable and are achievable.

You're doing a better job than most of telling us about the endings but keeping it spoiler free. Props to you thumb.gif

I honestly can't wait to be rolling my Sheperd again after my computer comes in from the repair shop, no matter what the ending is. If Bioware meant it to happen, then I am satisfied. Not a single Bioware game has completely crushed my soul as of yet. People are just asking for too much... I mean you can only expect so much out of the promises that Bioware make of "open, branching endings." They're not gonna make it so that you can have your Sheperd go home peacefully to Earth and make babies with your romance option and watch your child grow up and go through school etc.

My point exactly.

I'm all for people complaining, making a fuss, and putting their wallet where their mouth is when it comes to the poor practices of the game industry, but when it comes to story, its really all subjective.

Wake me up when people stop complaining that bioware didn't forgive their poor moral choice 3 missions ago and start complaining about things that actually matter, like the game not working on a lot of peoples computers. wink.gif
