[iGG] Fans Who Purchased Mass Effect 3 Via Amazon Are Getting Full Refunds - Page 5

Pfft this is nothing, after the problems, errors and issues with BF3 on my/brothers machines I got an EA CSR to refund me BOTH copies of BF3 . And on top of that since I bought them when they had the dead space 2 deal I got two copies of that for free and for some reason they never removed BF3 from my bros account.

Yes, I made out like a bandit but this is me getting my money back for Command and Conquer 4 and the horrid games that'd followed and will continue to follow, most likely frown.gif.

Amazon is too lenient and has too good of a return policy, but I guess this is their punishment for basically becoming the online equivalent of Wal-mart and destroying B&M stores.

My point exactly.
I'm all for people complaining, making a fuss, and putting their wallet where their mouth is when it comes to the poor practices of the game industry, but when it comes to story, its really all subjective.
Wake me up when people stop complaining that bioware didn't forgive their poor moral choice 3 missions ago and start complaining about things that actually matter, like the game not working on a lot of peoples computers. wink.gif

Well yes, whether someone 'Liked' the story is very subjective, that isn't quite the issue here. The issue is that gamers were promised a certain product with certain characteristics and expectations and did not receive the product advertised. Also, if this doesn't happen with bioware, then when will it happen? At what point do the practices of milking consumers for money and not living up to their promises by game Developers/publishers go over the line?

Even if it's not defective we still have a week to get a refund on anything bought on the internet. Amazon are really great at honouring that too.

Actually, for me, being in Begium, it isn't. Amazon is usually anywhere between 10 and 50% cheaper than most of the stores (wether online or actual physical stores) here.

The point is its not really the end of the world. Stories will inevitably have endings people don't like. Its just the nature of people's subjective opinions. All the endings in ME3 are reasonable and are achievable.
I see. Thanks for the info.

They said "you affect the ending" and from what I've read the ending is practically the same regardless of what you do - false advertising.

I got so frustrated trying to get it working only to have another patch come out and render my fixes/mods useless that I just don't care about it anymore.

You'd best report that to Steam and have the game removed otherwise they'll ban your entire account when they find out. You don't deserve a free game.

BS, you can't get squat. I really love the mass effect trilogy, finished the first two games a least 8 times each. Played through mass effect 3 and man was it a blast until I reached the end ..... Jesus, the crappiest ending ever made.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
3 endings which are in fact all the same except for the explosion color. Your team mates being on board the Normandy by some magic trick, TIM and Anderson being on board the citadel and no idea how they got there, a kid being the leader of the reapers coming out of nowhere .... so many loopholes it's making me dizzy. The replayability of the game has been completely destroyed by the endings.

Oh and the good ending that you mention is someone (Sheppard ??) in a N7 armor laying in the middle of concrete rubble who starts to breathe (kinda stupid when you see the citadel explodes with Sheppard on board)

And yes, I care. When you spent dozens of hours with the 2 first games, making the right choices, saving all your team mates, replaying with different ones only to reach the end and realizing that it wouldn't have changed anything anyway, it's disappointing.

Done venting

If they really wanted to vote with their wallets they wouldn't have played to begin with, legally or not. Playing the game, not being satisfied with the ending, then asking for a refund is not voting with your wallet. It is trying to eat your cake and have it too.
