+ i5 processors
+ 1-2gb RAM
+ 8gb ->128gb ssd drives inside
+ MicroSD card slot
+ minihdmi out
+ usb 3.0 slot
+ 3.5mm Jack
+ Top class 8-10MP camera lense
+ Wireless-N Wifi
+ running a fully updated Windows 8 OS.
+ 7-10hr battery life?
I would mostly use this device at home or places with wifi hotspots.
It is my strong opinion that MS should give us 2 installation choices for Windows 8:
1) Normal install.
2) Desktop only.
If not then I can see this only being popular as a Tablet/Mobile OS.

This is my fear, that Win 8 will only work on the most expensive, yet to be released tablets. If this is the case then let's hope the world doesn't end this year and we live to see full ARM support in xbuntu in 2014 smile.gif

I don't see why it matters that it's released early when you already know you're not going to upgrade to it?

The sooner it's released, the sooner Windows 7 (and perhaps even the desktop interface) gets phased out.

I don't think this compares to Vista at all. Vista didn't introduce a whole new interface that seems to be ill-suited for a desktop PC. Vista didn't feel like two different OSes in one. The issues with Vista were with the early drivers and overall resource use, and it looks like those aren't problems with Windows 8. If anything, Windows 8 seems to be BETTER in the performance department.

You can turn metro off and replace it with the start button. Google it...
