I have never seen a m320 do that in battlefield unless all you play is metro or something, stop playing these stupid maps and none of this crap will happen to you. period

There is no reason to have a subscription service and it serves only to fragment the community within that game.

I did not see anywhere EA saying they would implement a subscription service for Battlefield or make it pay 2 play as everyone here is saying. If they made a cod elite like service I wouldn't care because I wouldn't pay for it.

Not sure if your being sarcastic but I think you just confirmed that guy's point.

Now everything is about making money. And since the small game companies can't advertise everywhere and during the superbowl, idiots buy rehashes like cod and then pay to play cause it is the only game they know of.
Gaming is currently going downhill pretty fast. There aren't any innovating games, let alone game that are good and also innovate at the same time. And I don't see any in the future. Hopefully Respawn Entertainment can do what they did in 2003 with Call of Duty (not series....the game) and create another great game.

Said companies can make even more money rehashing stuff like cod and milking it for what its worth. Sad but true

People harp about how Witcher 2 is a great game all around is proof of what you can do if you make a PC game properly with free dlc etc and curse cod for rehashing and charging yet look at the revenue cod raised compared to the witcher 2. Look at how much mw3 sold compared to any of these games you remember. Im not saying what their doing is not wrong but sadly putting the consumer first will not make you the most successful. That said I own every Battlefield game and have over 100 hours clocked in Battlefield 3; I love the game and dont find the game broken as people around here claim. But as soon as they start going pay 2 play I am done with them forever.

Hmm.

I've never bought a piece of DLC, honestly. If this is just like the "COD Elite" thing, then it's no skin off my back.

I panicked when I saw "Subscription for BF3," I thought it was talking about server access. I don't play games enough anymore to warrant a subscription... frown.gif

Glad that doesn't seem to be the case.

Right but them having DLC released early for subscribers like the COD elite thing is wrong. Requiring more money to play the game fully is wrong.

Stop defending this.

It was submitted for recently for certification so it won't be much longer. I know it has taken a while but I would rather have them take their time and get everything right instead of releasing a patch or multiple patches that only half-fixes most issues.

It seems like EA really hasn't had any influence on BF3 other than making it require Origin, which isn't even that bad. This whole subscription thing is getting blown out of proportion. Nothing has been confirmed and even if it was, it would not be forced on players. Do I like the idea of it? Not really. All it means is that people who pay a certain amount get a few extra online features and a few DLCs earlier than everyone else, though. It isn't going to be like an MMO where you have to pay in order to play multiplayer. That's if it's anything like Call of Duty Elite like what they say they would be going for IF they did a subscription service.

But it wouldn't be required.. and it hasn't even been confirmed! It's not really defending it.. just more pointing out that it's not as big of a deal as most people are making it out to be.

No, I figured people who only want the single player should get a discount while still paying the devs money, instead of buying used and not paying a penny to the devs.
My plan is to make games cheaper by making more people pay for the game.
How socialist of me.

DLC.

Under a subscription based multiplayer, patches could include new maps and weapons for FREE, to EVERYONE. The devs get more money, the players get more game. win win.
Of course, this all depends on the devs not being too greedy, and the consumers being capable of basic math.
Guess how much faith I have in either of those things happening on a significant scale anytime soon.

When I buy a game I don't want to keep paying for it... I can understand big MMO's but not a shooting game..

The way I feel is look at the "good" patch work EA has done why on earth would I pay for that kind of patching? No.

There is plenty of other games out there.

Subscription for BF3/WoW/and 10 other games.
This is why subscription only works/makes sense for MMO's not fps and casual games..

Monthy bill for gaming = 400$ haha

Meh. I'm fine with the £30 price for the game and NOT paying a monthly subscription. If someone doesn't play the multiplayer tough nuts to them.

And yeah, this subscription will probably follow suit and have "early DLC access" to subscribers and yeah fragment the community. You clearly don't see me around here often because I'm a massive anti-DLC kind of guy. Rather just have an expansion pack that doesn't affect the original title much, instead of the current, crappy, system.

Subscription services are WRONG there isn't a single game on the entire earth that I agree with that model and that includes MMO's. Paying a monthly fee for a game is outright wrong. I said years ago that they would wrangle it into other genres of games and I was entirely right. Paying a monthly sub for an FPS is pathetic. Current "free2play" are just that, free, but they're also "pay2win".

Just take my £30-£40 and give me a game that works out of the box without any additional micro transactions and monthly payments. kthnxbye.
