With the $15 MC coupon, I can snag the above named APU for the above mentioned price. I'd love to build a gun case PC (similar to, but not exactly the same as, the MOTM winner Lando), but I would also love to not put a discrete GPU in the thing. Would just the APU be enough power to drive games on what will likely be 1280x1024? (19" LCD screen). I'm not a graphics whore either. I currently play all games on low on my school laptop. I thought I read somewhere that you can actually get playable frames out of high resolutions in somewhat demanding games with an APU, but I just wanted to ask first. The price is a steal as well, no?

I might be looking at getting a CPU/Mobo bundle from MC instead, pushing off the Llano rig till a later date.
Is the 1045T worth $20 more than the 960T, which may or may not unlock into a hexacore? I would pair it with the GA-990FX-UD3 board regardless of what chip. Best board in a bundle (I think), and the best savings.

Well, I meant that building a Llano rig that I originally asked about would be pushed off. I was asking about replacing my sig rig parts with one of those two AMD CPU's.

your mobo won't handle the watage a 6 core uses anything above 80 watts and your really pushing it and nmost 6 cores and 4 cores start at 95 watts and can go as high as 140 watts when pushed you board was never built to handle that kind of power and going down that road will end very bad for that board but in the end its up to you

My board only handles AM2. I would be getting a Gigabyte GA-FX990A-UD3 bundled with the CPU from Microcenter.

for a AMD Llano combo i would suggest you something like this or this as per your budget i know its not from MC but i think bundles have a look at for sure
as for X6 and the gigabyte combo if you are a pure AMD fanboy then go for a 1055T for 150$ and a 990FX-UD3 for ~140$ and if you dont mind intel then get a 25ook and a Extreme 3 gen3 for 257$
another thing this motherboard here
Refurnished : ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 107$ is a epic on my sight the only thing is its AM3 socket motherboard
yet i though that might interest you
*edit*
just saw MC has 1045T for 110$ but its a in store pick up
but i would still recommend you a core i5 + Extreme3 Gen3 for 257$ OR a FX8120+ Gigabyte 99oFXA-UD3 @ 240$
Hope that helped
