I would stay with the FX-8120 because newer games use more cores and you also benefit when doing video encoding. But in the end it all depends on what games you play the most. Some new games like Skyrim are still more optimized to take advantage of dual core CPUs, in which case the higher clocks you can get with the FX-4100 are better.

thanks, i do have skyrim and i get a solid 60fps on that game on ultra settings.

i have it on auto detect, all are set to high except texture quality , thats on ultra.
