Big update: All the parts are finally coming together; the final piece- Asus Maximus V Formula motherboard- will be here tomorrow. I expect to be up and running this Saturday \o/ go me! (If you can't tell, I'm just a *little* bit excited to finally finish this project, I've been back for a whole month now and haven't been able to do anything but drool over my parts pile. I did score a nice UPS from work, so that's a plus.

Continuing on from last night, starting to assemble here; in this post, it's installing the fans and storage mediums (SSDs, HDD, and ODD). Should have a much much more interesting update in about 2 hours, once the motherboard finally arrives (UPS says it's on the truck for delivery). Anyways, here's some pics:

Case in it's unboxed and unbagged state. Nothing done yet.

Replaced stock 120mm exhaust fan with AF140 Quiet, removed upper drive cage assembly

Removed the front panel, dust shield, and stock 120mm intake fans (stacked to the right).

Installing the new AF120 Quiets, tray-side view.

Fans installed, dust cover replaced.

Fans and front panel installed. Prepping the drive trays for SSDs. Lower intake AF120 Quiet installed for GPU cooling.

Samsung 830 Series 128Gb SSDs ready for install.

SSDs mounted, installed.

Prepping the side panel for intake fans.

2x AF120 Quiets hung.

From the outside; the white rings accent nicely.

Dust cover installed, very subtle accents.

From the tray side, ready for the rest of the components. Generous cable routing channel.

Well, not even 10 minutes after my last post, the UPS Santa rang my doorbell. I'm currently posting from my new beast

Mounting the WiFI pigtail to the I/O shield.

Motherboard installed.

Prepping the radiator and cooler.

Fans mounted

Halfway installed.

Cooling installed.

RAM installed.

RAM cooler hooked up.

GTX 680 SC+ installed.

Decided not to use the sound card.

My wiring job, not too shabby.

Ready to run...

Sweet, no smoke on the first try!

I would, but I really don't have a whole lot of reason to add any additional heat generators to the interior, considering this is an almost-silent build with no window. Maybe for pictures I'll add some lighting, but nothing that runs constantly.
