that's how i build my pc, buy parts every time a paycheck comes in. i always leave mobo and cpu last because that is the hardest part to decide.

I try very, very hard not to. The reason is because technology changes so fast... buy a CPU now, a few weeks later you have other components... suddenly something happens, and you have to spend your extra cash on something else. Months later you're left with outdated parts.

The only way I'd buy individual parts is if I'd be able to use them immediately. As nice as it is to see new parts every week or so, you should save up your money and buy it all at once.

Not to mention that if you're patient and wait, you'll find better deals on parts.

Not me.For the main components,i usually try to get them all at one time. For the rest of the components, you can take more time in doing so since a lot of them can carry over even after a platform has ended.

Option 1 or 2. CPUs, mobos, and graphics cards are the worst components to buy and then sit on for any extended period of time because they change so quickly and dramatically.
