Looks like Keplar delivers, being this WAS originally designed to be the gtx 660, WOW

Now we know why its gonna be marketed as the GTX 680, and they got some room for a price war. $500-$550? This is an easy upgrade from my 470's

add the fact the 690 is being prepped for being delivered after AMD launches the 7990, I actually feel bad for AMD. But this is good for us consumer, all in all theres some good performing cards on the market and prices will come down. they have to.

GTX 680 is better overall @1600p

No one is saying that the difference is big

Ya it's pretty good. I'll likely buy the refined version.

So much arguing over rumors and nothing set in stone. Hopefully some of it's true so I can scoop up a third 7970 for a decent price. I really hope for NVidia performance is above expected, since they had all this time to come out with them. I'm always ready for good battle.

Thanks for the link, $499 isn't completely terrible, I'll still probably wait for it to drop to about $400 before I pick one up, or pickup a 660 or equivalent.

If the 680 does come out at $499, I would estimate that the 7970 will drop to $425, 450.

Yeah, the thing is I wanted a 680 because for me, NV has been more reliable than AMD cards ive owned and the performance difference at lower rez compared to the 7970 is way bigger, but at higher rez its about on par, thats what I was trying to say ... which sucks doh.gif

The source took it down and that "backup" that the OP made is gone too. mad.gif

Agree with the neutral folks here biggrin.gif

Performance:watt seems skewed. Didn't do the math but the 680 uses 15 watts less than the 7970, and 45 more than 7950. So power wise not really a difference.

2560x1600 they obviously need more vram...not sure why they chose 2gb/256bit...Hopefully a 3-4gb model is hidden away, evga was always good about that, because if 2gb is the most they offer the 7970 will probably win in most cases at high res.

Also, we've seen drastically different benches from everyone...NVIDIA themselves say they will trade blows, meaning win some lose some. I would wait for release before you guys start selling off whatever cards you have.

Not sure if its because of the median age of users these days, but this place never used to be this bad...what's with people deliberately baiting eachother?
