[Tom's] GeForce GTX 680 Review (links/pics of all the graphs) - Page 13

I'll reserve my opinion when we get a full review, with stated clocks and how the turbo actually works. For all we know, these things could be OC'ing themselves to 1100Mhz on the core or some random number depending on the game/load/tdp. While this would still be considered "stock", it could also mean that when properly OC'ed, it may not increase in performance as much as the 7970 does, since the 680 is already being "overclocked". Leaving not as much headroom when max oc'ed. We know for a fact that these things overclock themselves, we just don't know by how much on any given situation. It could be only 50Mhz, meaning this card is indeed a beast, or it could be 200Mhz on some of the games, possibly leaving only a little headroom for max OC'ing. If people don't understand this, they are blinded. I am by no means a loyalists, just look at my other rigs(I own more Nvidia than AMD). Just want a clearer picture of how things are working under the hood. Everyone should feel the same way and wait for the full details.

Wonder what will happen to the price of the 580. I wonder if it'll drop much more...hmmm
Looks like it actually can now run metro2033 and crysis smoothly? lol

It depends how low the 7970 will go.

The 580 remain a big chip to manufacture. Don't know if it remain profitable to continue producing it.

I'm actually impressed, didn't think they can get close to the previous gen's dual GPU cards with just one generation. Plus this isn't even the GK100, will be interesting to see what that is like when it comes out.

It really leaves me pondering what the GK100/110 will/could have been.

This is good for tech ecosystem. NV is going to be competitive with their pricing, power consumption, heat and performance. This is a complete win when comparing it to Fermi.

Pretty sure GK100 was scrapped... GK110 and/or GK112 has/have replaced it.

I'm really really hoping that AMD has a good come back to GK110, not for any kind of loyalty or fanboyism, just to keep prices in check. Competition is good for us, the consumers.

GK110 will most likely be released as the GTX 780 and priced accordingly. At least let's hope so. Waiting for more reviews, but Kepler is looking good so far.
