I think I'll wait a couple of days, I'll start seeing the gigabyte I need to match for the same price, good luck though.

Also is there anything else to consider? Or basically this is better than 7970 at the moment? If so my 7970 is going up for $430-450 on OCN

Well, I think alot of people would agree with me when I say that the 680 is the winner here. It's performing better in games (small or big gaps) with it's 2nd pre-release driver while AMD has had months to work on their drivers. These drivers will not be the ones that come with the launch retail product, and nVidia will have drivers on their site I'd say days or a week after launch for them providing further updates and enhancements. The only thing the 680 seems to lose in is compute power, which I think nVidia have done right this time. Gamers far outweigh the number of people requiring compute (openCL) power. It also offers lower power and heat... so really, if you think about it... I'm sure you could come to the same conclusion. 4GB models will be out a short while after launch also, so there's that to consider. If you're really, really worried about memory, keep the 7970 till the 4GB models are out... then upgrade.

I can't wait til real reviews and real hands on reports come out to put the bickering to bed. AMD fanboi here NVidia fanbi there. Why can't people stay on topic without the schoolyard fighting. I haven't had any issues with my cards and if these are better so be it. None of us will lose out with either camp.

Too impatient! lol

So these number are legit correct? That 77 minimum in BF3 is what I'm craving.

The fact that the 680 is around the range of 10-20% faster overall than the 7970... You'd be able to play BF3 on ultra with some pretty decent FPS.

I was going to sell my 590... but as it's still faster than the 680 IMA wait for the next generation of cards smile.gif.

This sums up buying AMD.

Should I put this in my sig? Hmm thinking.gif
