i see it as a total fail on nvidia's part. just look at the diff in load temps. i'll stick with low temps and great drivers.tongue.gif

So your going to make the assumption based on your 4 5770's.
79*C is nothing when comparing it to Fermi. +4*C and +18% overall performance + under 80*C + lower power consumption. It doesn't sound horrid to me thumb.gif
No word on how well the stock cooler will dissipate heat when you blow a bit more air over it or what the stock fan profile is running at.

It seems a bit premature, especially when 1 680 will probably eat 3 of those 5770's and put out less heat overall.
Serious dilution.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking as well. Maybe we'll see that high end kepler part at some point?

Though I must admit that the 680 is looking really lucrative at the moment.

I think this is a tad arrogant.
You've been acting threatened whenever anyone brings up simple questions to help nail down the true performance of this card. If anyone's acting like a PR firm, it's you.
When people were asking if these were at stock clocks or at turbo, it's pretty clear that they were concerned about the overclockability of the 680 in contrast to the 7970. If the 680 has little OC headroom, my perspective on it's performance will change drastically. It's another 5-phase card, so this is a fair concern.
There was also talk of the 6xx series having major advantages in certain games due to optimization that don't necessarily reflect performance elsewhere. Are these those games?

These are important questions for anyone interested in the card, such as myself.

Wow.. It was nice being with you AMD! wheee.gif
Now quite worried with how AMD will survive with a badly beaten processor + and a badly beaten GPU.

it will still be 140% faster than 4x5770.

4x5770 is not = 4x performance. He is just butt hurt and i'm happy jumping around in my house. Nvidia FTW!

Driver updates, what does that have to do with compute capabilities?

So what will the new GTX mid-hi line up look like cost-wise?

680 @ $499.99
580 @ $399.99
570 @ $299.99
560Ti 448 @ 249.99
560Ti @ $199.99

I think the 570 should be scrapped and the 580 should drop another $50.

With performance like what we see so far, anyone considering a 580 will throw in the extra $100 for the 680.
