I did the same upgrade from an Athlon II x3 455 to a 960T - Overclocked both of them but the 960T was an overclocking beast, especially on the NB.

I got 4.15Ghz on 1.425V and 3.1Ghz NB at 1.325V :-D

Love Thuban! Difference was night and day, especially gaming - framerates jumped about 15-30 FPS depending on the game which "wowed" the crap out of me.

WAT 4.15 @1.425 and 3.1 Ghz NB @1.325 that is great . My eyes are on that 6850 made a mistake going for the 6750 though it is a good card but nothing compared to the 6850.

Haha, yeah I was very happy to see those numbers... The 6850 is a GREAT card in its price range - I'm going to be upgrading soon to a 7870 soon even though I'm very happy with my 6850 and it plays everything on High (not usually ultra on newer games) at 1080P with 60+FPS normally.

Very happy with both of my purchases smile.gif

it's an upgrade, especially if you manage to unlock it into a 6-core.

I tried pushing it to 4.25 GHz and just couldn't seem to get it stable (likely due to heat) my CoolerMaster Hyper N-520 is an excellent cooler for the $25 I paid for it - I liked it because it has 92MM fans and cools about as well as the 212 EVO which is 120MM.

If I get an obnoxious cooler, I'm sure I could push it further - but I'm definitely happy with where it's at and I figure it makes more sense to just buy a faster processor than to pay any more than about $30 for a cooler.

The 960t is fast , what cabinet do you have ? is cabinet cooling good ? I am using a CM Elite 370 and I can connect 5 120mm fans which I would be doing so in a day or two.

Get a Hyper 212+ or a Thermalright Macho if you can afford it! There isn't anything much else out there for the price range. I know the Macho is double, but it's far worth it.. That is if it'd fit in your case! rolleyes.gif
