Help Setting up Headphones in Auzentech X-Fi Forte

Hey all,

Been searching and I cant find any definitive guide or settings for this, but I just picked up a used x-fi forte sound card, which I will be pairing with a set of JVC RX-900 headphones.

1. Can someone tell me the settings for best sound in GAMES..I dont really use my rig for movies or anything like that...I keep seeing conflicting responses for 2.1/2.0 and cmss3d off or headphone and cmss3d on, all in gaming mode. How about the x-fi crystalizer? SVM?
2. I see something about synchronizing with windows control panel or making changes to the audio settings in the windows control panel...do I need to do this? What I am talking about is HERE: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=239405

Or can someone point me to a guide on here I may have missed? I could have sworn I used a guide from here a few years ago, but now I cant seem to find it...

Thanks in advance everyone!

in windows sound settings set it to 7.1 speakers, same for games. Then enable cmss3d in the forte.

svm basically makes little details louder when gaming, but when quiet it buzzes slightly. tradeoff

dont know about crystallizer.

Cmss on equalizer off crystalizer off. Make sure you have headphones selected in the game console launcher. You can set the windows audio settings to 7.1 or change it in each individual game.
