Biostar A780L3L - It doesn't make sense!

Hello all, I thought I'd help my brother out today on his pc, and I noticed that his cpu voltage was set to 1.52V, I find this pretty high when he doesn't even overclock.

So I thought I'd manual set cpu voltage, To manual set the voltage first I needed to enable Custom P-states, when I decrease Core VID, voltage doesn't change at all, But If I decrease NB VID that does decrease the cpu voltage, shouldn't this be the opposite? I've upgraded the bios firmware + reflashed and same issue.

I dont mind decreasing the NB VID to drop the cpu voltage but If NB VID decreases the cpu voltage, what the hell does CORE VID do? and is it safe to leave that 1.45v?

Mobo: Biostar A780L3L

This is what it says in the manual:

Custom P-States
This item allows you to select the P-States controlling.
Options: Disabled (Default) / Enabled

Core VID
This function allows you to adjust the voltage of CPU.

NB VID
This function allows you to adjust the voltage of NB chip.

I will post screenshots of the bios.

Hope someone can help me out

Seems to be a faulty BIOS at play here.  You have reason to be very concerned that your processor voltages are through the roof by the way due to the extremely low end 3-phase VRM.  What are you trying to run on this?  Bear in mind the maximum 95W TDP.

The mobo is running amd athlon x3 450, which is 95w TDP, I know thats very risky, but cpu voltage being 1.5V doesn't really help.

ATM this pc is kinda pants, 1ghz northbridge, 1ghz HT, I can only change this if i enable custom p state, by enabling this I need to set the voltages manual, now If i set the NB VID to 1.4v, that should be enough for stock 450. but i'm unsure what to set core VID, should I just think of core VID as northbridge and set it as 1.15V.

Thanks
