Check in your bios to make sure your vcore reading is correct if you have that option. If you are using CPUz to read your vcore it always fluctuates a little for some reason especially at idle.

Yeah, I'm using CPU-Z for Vcore readings. I'll check it in BIOS next time I restart.

ya know, Maximum PC sayes that 10% of original Vcore is pushing it, (1.4 is most 90nm original, so around 1.5V) is totlay fine, try to get to 3ghz plus!!!! (if u want) i would

Oh, I definitely will once I get water cooling! With this bad cooling I have now, 2.6 is pushing it. I could probably get to around 2.7 on this without raising the vcore, maybe even 2.8, but that's too risky. I don't want to damage the processor due to heat.
