I believe the Hyper 212 Plus does have notches in the heatsink to allow the attachment of a second fan.

Yes you can clip another fan on.

The two smaller shrouds allowed for the ultra kazes to have more area for the air to pass through. The middle of the fan is known as the dead zone and when you add space you allow more surface area of the air to get pushed through the fins of the cooler. Also works with radiators.

If the TX3 clears my G.Skill Ripjaws I think the 212 (which is higher off the mobo will clear whichever G.Skill you have.

Just do what I did:
1) Go here.
2) Bust out the measuring device
3) Compare!
