The right process is to come up with a price for this monitor first (which can be determined by a simply meeting), then ask us whether or not we will buy it.

I doubt the manufacturer is going to start producing monitors without giving us a price first. Otherwise they could get stuck with whatever monitors they build, if the price isn't right. The OP is talking with somebody that works in the company, nothing is said and done, they won't start production without us agreeing on a price.

Powerstrip lets you go higher than 85Hz on AMD cards, except that I think support for the 7-series cards hasn't really been added so those don't work well with powerstrip at the moment. I don't have a 7-series to test, so somebody directly familiar may be able to give better info.

If it's any help, I have a 4870X2 and it goes as high as 90Hz with Powerstrip (it ignores changes above that value, probably due to the extra chips involved with joining the two GPUs, or simply due to it being 4-series). This same gpu refuses to list refresh rates in windows above 84Hz or so (I believe this is the artificial 85Hz driver limit that's meant in reference to AMD cards, and is circumvented by Powerstrip).

From what I've heard, other AMD cards should be able to get up to around 100Hz or so. The only currently confirmed card able to beat that by any significant margin is the GTX680.

So it's been confirmed that they're making the model, does anyone know what it's going to include? I remember reading bits of details but it's become impossible to find most of the information with all this side chatter going on... There's an official Catleap thread where most of these discussions should go.

What is the "confirmed" model going to feature? I know OP said specs are still being confirmed but do we have any idea at least what's being worked on/whats possible? Trying to decide if I want to wait this out or buy now.

if it hits even 85hz im happy.
most likely adjust until i cant tell the difference. (~80hz)
no need to push it too hard.

heck i might be in for 3 just for kicks. (about the same price as 1 Dell screen...)
just need to find a bigger table.

also the power supply will be 100 - 240v right?
im 100% in BTW

CHeck out the Catleap Q270 base model, single input DL-DVI. That's the most likely to be what you get.

From reading this thread i would say its safe to say nobody knows what this monitor is going to have or how its going look, all guessing at this point.

Any word on how much these will cost?
Is there anyway to drop the price on the shipping? I mean anything more than $50 seems idiotic. I mean I can wait 2 weeks for this thing to get here. I don't mind the time. Or is it just tarrifs or whatever?

Cleaned some bickering out, this isn't the place for petty attacks. That done, figured I'd mention that if the company wishes to cooperate with us as a site (from a marketing perspective, among other possibilities) then I can try to get the ball rolling on those connections. (Edit; if you've tried this already, De-Zant, PM me and I'll figure things out.) Let me know here or via PM how you want things to go in the long term, bQvle. smile.gif
