If this happens I would sell my U3011 and pick up at least two.

Single-link DVI has a maximum allowed pixel clock of 165MHz, and thus has a hard limit on what maximum resolution/refresh it can support. Dual-link has no explicit clock limit, so it's just down to the maximum clockspeed the graphics card, cables and monitor can handle. In this sense, 1440p@120Hz could very well be supported over dual-link DVI, but as has been shown with the existing 2B catleaps you'd be hard pressed to find a graphics card whose transmitters can handle over about 100Hz at that resolution currently.

400mhz RAMDAC limit.

Displayport in general isn't a sure thing as far as max bandwidth goes. This monitor would require the best variation of 4 lane DP 1.2. Anything else isn't going to work.

Interesting, thanks, have been trying to find that answer for a while now.

Does DisplayPort function similar to DLDVI then?

it will fit if you don't mind part of the monitor hanging at the end of the desk on each sides. all 3 stands will fit on the desk though.

This is basicly what we are getting down to. feel free to come with input!
Yamakasi Catleap Custom Q270
  • Panel: LG S-IPS 27" 2560x1440 (Option to pay exstra for A+ rated panel if possible / Perfect Pixel)
  • Refresh Rate: >= 100hz (120 hz PCB)
  • MS: <= 6
  • Connections: Single connection only (DP or DUAL-DVI)
    "Single connection to reduce/remove input lag, If possible both DP and DUAL-DVI with manual switch to reduce input lag (no board processing/detection)"
  • No Speakers
  • No Tempered Glass (to avoid dust caught behind)
  • No Anti-Gloss Coating
  • No OSD On Screen Display (for reduced input-lag)
  • No Scalar (for reduced input-lag)

Whishes (if possible):
  1. Smaller/thinner/simpler bezel. (Screen border/edge)
  2. Solid stand (pivot if possible) but if it isn't more stable, leave it as it is, or remove it to lower price.
  3. (Less to none) branding and stickers.
But we would settle with 2B'like monitors (if customising isn't possible)?

Sounds good to me, I'd be willing to go for one.

Thanks, thats what I wanted to know if the stands would be fine

Total width would be around what 74"? The angled side monitors are confusing me?

Sounds good to me. DP preferred if I must pick one connection or the other.
