Now you got a 250$ 27" 2650x1440 monitor.
  1. You will never get a A+ guaranteed pixel perfect, 120hz rated with pivot-able solid stand and thin benzel. for JUST 100$ more! That would basicly mean, that you could buy the "best" 27" consumer monitor in the world, for just 350$. this is not gonna happend! Everyone else would be out of business!
  2. ...
Thats about it.
You have to put it all this way.
  • Manufacturer already got panels and PCB's at stock. from what Im told (This rules out A+ and DisplayPort). Nothing we can do about this
  • Dead pixels can occur, there is regulations about this. they might differ from each country! You can read the Korean regulations about this, on almost every monitor listed at ebay.
  • If you recive your monitor DOA, it will be taken care of! there have been a few cases already, and the sellers have been really BIG so far, at this point.
Bottom line,
They offer A/A- 60hz rated(OC'able to ~100), whatever benzel or stand they decide to use.
It is up to you, to deside, weather or not you can live with that! (take it or leave it)
Far from everyone has the same "Sky-High" expectations towards this 2-300$ display. But are rather thankfull that this is even possible.
With thous expectations you might be better of waiting for Dell or similar rated 120hz. but you need to expect a price at around 1000$

hey bQvle

What ever you'll be able to deal, I'll buy the screen!

But How long do you think it will take to produce?

So what is the price for one monitor with shipping at the moment? Doesnt 400USD seem pretty high for group order like this, considering there is cheaper yamakasis already in ebay?

I'd love to get one of these, but not if it is going to be more than $400+ for something that comes with no warranty, no osd, no multi inputs (more importantly DP and HDMI), could possibly have dead pixels and is non-refundable. Before the pricing police come for me, my idea of a good deal for this would be a monitor that is:
- less than $400, preferably around the $300 mark (if we go with a group buy, as is being suggested)
- A+, A panel (A- only if prechecked)
- Multiple inputs (DP and HDMI is a must)
- Good solid stand
- preferably a simple OSD (in English)
I think for what we're giving up in terms of a warranty, long term reliability (@100Hz which is still a big question mark) and the previously mentioned drawbacks, the above price would be reasonable.

As already stated.

- It will be Dual-DVI (single input)
- It will be A or A-
- Pre-check will cost additional 60$
- Better stand if possible
- They are looking into benzel, but cant promise anything atm.
- No multi input, no scalar, no OSD (for the sake of minimal input-lag)
- If price is changing it will be raised a bit, not lowered. the 120hz PCB is more expencive in production.

Sorry if this come out a little harch. but this is stated at #0 in 22 March. update! and many of these topics is out of discussion.
this is how it will be. If it will be at all, we are still waiting that one.

Again, take it or leave it.

I've just taken a look at the "without glass / without speakers" Catleap Bezel, those would do fine for me, so the thinner bezel is not needed.
I'll get a Pivot Stand/Arm myself no problem.

Regarding Panel, I'd still want no dead pixels, ideally no other glaring issues either, it is supposed to be a screen you want to look at without clawing your eyes out.

Thank you for clarifying the Return policy, that is a big relief. Although the issue of customs and shipping time is still there, they're pretty tough in Germany.

Also with the lack of OSD options for picture adjustment options, profiles etc, on the Catleaps,
I can presume a Dell or Samsung would do that.

Seeing the high grade EIZO screens offering insane LUT and profile options and polarizers,
offering a 27" 16:9 1440p screen with 120hz and IPS sans polarizer is still not a perfect deal.
Want to write, professionals will look for more and that margin is safe from the Catleaps.

No problem, i agree on benzel.

I think there are other customs regulations, when shipping back and fourth (for service). but there need to be documentation from earlier pourches.

I got 2 monitors stuck at customs now.
I will have to pay
25% tax
12% toll
and a 32$ toll fee.

Thats a total of 200$ on top of the 400$ price for each monitor! but I still think this is cheep, and i dont complain. wink.gif

Just double checking, no tempered glass is also by default in that list too right.

Thanks again

Why would it be reasonable for the seller to sell such monitors to you that at that price? A model like what you describe costs $627 ($730 MSRP). See this for a monitor that does meet your expectations. The only difference is that the panel you want is arguably superior (OSD + 100hz capable board), and the only thing you give up is the warranty and support. And for that, you want to pay half that?
Yeah really this thread is about getting guaranteed 2B boards...and that's it, which I am more than fine with.
OP you should probably just update the thread title and 1st post to say "2B boards and nothing else," otherwise we'll continue to get posts like we've seen above, with Christmas shopping lists (multiple inputs, DP, or A+ panels hahaha).
