I only registered for a hope of this display

- 97Hz+
- Glossy
- No Glass
- No Input Lag
- Perfect Pixel
- Dual DVI (without i not will buy)
- And is good use the better stand from crossover version with pivot.

Another Question is, all the current version on ebay Yamakasi/Achieva/Crossover not come over around 70 Hz ?

@bQvle
You say is one from the ebay sellers, can you say name ?

The LG one looks amazing @ IPS+120hz. Thin bezel too. But I think that's the only IPS+120HZ in production, as it was stated a long time ago.

PLS is actually worse than IPS, imo. Samsung still hasn't gotten it right--contrast is poorer than LG IPS panels.

PLS in theory was suppose to be better. I guess Samsung could work on it more if the intended results are actually worse. Though this is going to be the second batch of PLS panels that samsung will release, hopefully it's improved.

I finally signed up for this thread.

I would like 2 if most of the following is met:
  • Pixel Perfect / Zero Defect
  • Low/Negligible Input Lag
  • 10bit colors (true 10bit or 8bit + 10 bit process, which sounds possible on ATI cards currently)
  • Good sRGB emulation (is this even possible? Is this on the controller?)

I'm an artist both digital and traditional (video games and comics/print work) so wide gamut colour and sRGB emulation is nice to have. But if the Wide Gamut + sRGB emulation isn't possible I can do with a good sRGB display.

Im debating just ordering one right now, are the ones on ebay overclockable at all, I mean can they even reach 65hz? Ii know it will be a step up visually from my 120hz tn panel, but i wonder if it will look much better than my 1920x1200 mva panel

Not true. Native contrast on a good S27A850D is around 900:1 while the poor units do around 800:1 which is pretty good for a début especially since PLS panels don't suffer from tinting. The main issue with PLS, especially with the overpriced S24A850D is the back-light bleeding.

While some of the newer IPS do 1100:1 it is possible to get an identical model with <800:1, such large variances are often seen with the <24" IPS. Except for the HP ZR2740W and these Korean models the other 1440p-1600p IPS panels cap out around 800:1 and do <700:1 after calibration. Large contrast variance with the smaller models is also quite common.

I find it kind of funny you associate BenQ as a cheap brand when they put out one of the best and most expensive 120Hz 24" monitors. Although as an overall name brand I might agree with you, just not really when it comes to 120Hz tongue.gif
