So these panels are going to be a or a-, but we'll have the option of ordering dead pixel free screens, right?

I'm more than willing to pay extra, but I'd think for cost cutting wouldn't it be beneficial to simply order all dead pixel free panels so that they don't have some duds laying around? It seems most efficient to make sure ALL panels are DP free.

I also understand that 60hz will be default, but if we KNOW it'll do it, can't they still give us a warranty and an official means for running at 75hz or something? Or even 85hz? Just make it something that works without voiding a warranty? I imagine that claiming the warranty will be excessively difficult due to the where they'll have to be shipped to...

I'm voting for black bezel, and also voting they thin the bezels up. Also hoping for a focus on extremely low latency. The lower latency, the better. These screens will be LED right?

The perfect pixel option doesn't mean that there will be no dead pixels. What it means - at least as claimed by the ebay sellers - is that the screen will be manually inspected by a human at the factory rather than just by a machine. However they are not expecting the screen for perfection, they are checking to see that it falls within the acceptable number of pixel defects. Several people who have ordered panels with the option have received screens with stuck red pixels that ought to have been easily detected by inspection.

im super interested.

what im looking for (from most important to least)

1. price / thin bezel -- if price is good, bezel needs to be thin to buy multiple
2. refresh rate
3. deal pixels -- if its just 1 or 2 but priced cheaper I'm okay with it.

I also hope we change that glossy crap to matte. Glossy is too hard to work with in multi screen setups. Me and my room mate will account for 7 total monitor sales if we see this go matte.

bQvle, you should have posted up a picture of a Catleap Q270 with the poll question:

"Are you willing to buy this 1440p, IPS glossy monitor if it was capable of 100hz refresh rates?"

Forget the pixel perfect option, I garuntee people will get dead and stuck pixels even if the pixel perfect option is chosen. And they'll have to live with it, or else pay to ship it back (or take a slight refund and still have dead and/or stuck pixels).

I don't think everyone is actually reading the poll before voting, they just see custom order + 120hz capable + 1440p + IPS. If you're not willing to buy a Catleap Q270 2B version, you're probably not willing to buy whatever comes out of this custom order.

the downside is higher quality panels would add a lot more cost to the item.

I think people need to be realistic about this. Even big companies selling A+ panels do not guarantee 0 defective pixels.

Look here and be surprised:
http://www.tested.com/news/feature/articles/1337-we-uncover-the-dead-pixel-policies-for-every-major-lcd-maker/2/

Apple, for example, on a screen of 27" would allow up to 15 defective pixels as 'acceptable'. That's worse than what these Korean manufacturers claim.

Another influx of people with Christmas shopping lists rolleyes.gif

People seem to not realize the desire for 100 hz among gamers; it seems that many have not even experienced refresh rates above 60hz.

People need to realize, that if we do get 100hz+ panel on 1440p screens, that's already a breakthrough and a world premier of mass produced monitors at that.

Also, like the poster above me have said, not even big companies who charge 700$+ for a 27inch ips 1440p monitor will guarantee you zero dead pixels.

I really hope this happens, but remain guarded since we cannot be the only ones on the planet dying for 120hz monitors this size.  As has been posted many times before me, THOUSANDS of these bad boys would sell in a matter of days.  Not weeks, not months, DAYS with the proper advertising and buzz.

With the 680 apparently able to drive the Catleaps to at least 116hz (and up to a full 120hz), the GPU seems not to bottle neck now so a 120hz monitor would be the golden goose.  Why hasn't a Korean company jumped all over this already?  We know they are trolling these boards re: their monitors so why hasn't one stepped up and kicked out these bad boys?  No idea.

I hope they come up soon and also are willing to provide the necessary parts support that will be required (also making the PCBs available).  For now, if you have an OC Catleap and the board goes you will most likely get back a non-OC variant since the PCBs are in such short supply (I hear only 1200 exist at the moment in the Witech plant.)

Fingers crossed!
