I would buy one. Was wondering if there was a way to get other hook up options though, preferably HDMI or Displayport?

Waiting for the guy to get online! hope for an answer within the next hours. But from what I've heard so far, all parts have agreed on making them! Just need to get all details together!

Was just curious as to the outcome of the meeting, if it happened.

what are they making? PCBs for 100hz OC?
they are possibly making the whole monitor not just the PCB. But the PCB is part of what makes it capable of 100+Hz. So if/when it goes on sale you have the entire thing, not just a replacement part (hope that was not confusing)
think of it as a 'special edition' monitor

Now when will this happen. I will buy one. So at 1440 it would be 100hz, I'm guessing at 1080p it could be 120hz

Wonder what the odds of this happening sometime soon are? Tempted to just buy one off ebay for $370. 100hz would be a nice touch though.

they have to be manufactured first. from what info was given, the company has not yet decided to produce them yet. and so it could be months down the road before we finally see a product that we can buy

Ugh. Patience is not one of my virtues. smile.gif

I have been lusting after a U2711...and considering picking up two U2412Ms...but this seems like such a heck of a deal. I just don't get why some manufacturer just doesn't build a couple thousand of these and make a deal with NewEgg to sell them. They would sell out in a week.

if you want to buy now, the other option is what scribby is working on. basically he is trying to get the older boards that were capable of 100+ sourced and built. if successful you could buy a monitor now, and then buy the replacement board if/when it comes out. downside is you would need to be brave enough to crack open your lcd and replace them yourself.
if you are curious, that info is in the catleap club http://www.overclock.net/t/1225919/yamakasi-catleap-monitor-club (first post scroll down to pcb updates)
