And those PCBs should likely work on all the Korean LG based displays, right? Was that already confirmed?

Also, would "sourced and built" mean we can get the PCB mod for left and right side brightness done for us stock?

bQvIe, whether you read this or not, it seems as though a lot of people are wanting for thin bezels, so when you talk to the seller, if you could mention that, as well as using a standard VESA mount, that would be much appreciated!
Thanks so much for organizing this, it would be groundbreaking if this worked out

Very probably anything using this panel (LM270WQ1) which comprises all of these monitors (plus some more well known brands like the Dell U2711) should be electrically compatible, assuming Scribby can source the DVI board, cables and T-con (as the panels are all identical after that point).

About the mod... tough call, and you'd probably need to PM scribby about that directly. I don't know what kind of arrangements he has with his suppliers or what kind of redesign capabilities they have.

No news from Thursday's meeting?

Have there been discussions with the vendor about bezel size/port options? I have been looking for a semi-affordable 1440p monitor to do surround gaming with hehe.

assuming they all use the same LG panel (and I'm fairly certain the majority do) I don't think there would be any problems. LG only makes a few lcd panels of this resolution and all basically have the same specs (either 8 bit color, or 8 bit+frc). As for side brightness, I'm not sure what you mean.

I am not working on that - I am assuming he is meaning the LED strip brightness disparity that a few monitors have shown (I don't have an issue with that).  I could be mistaken - if I am send me another PM.  I have no plans on working beyond the simple (well it is a PIA) reverse engineering and sourcing of the 120hz PCBs for those of use that have the LG panel, but not the 120hz PCBs (I have one of each so I need one!)  I will not be purchasing one of these monitors if they become available, but will be working on sourcing PCB parts for the masses.  I believe these can work with Shimian and Crossover panels as well (but will need a guinea pig to confirm once PCBs are in fact available.)

As far as updates go - I have none to report.  I have been on vacation (still am) until the middle of next week and I still don't have my extra set of PCBs in hand to send back over to the Chinese plant that will do the engineering and manufacturing (assuming they can source all the parts - they tell me they can, but that could be a load of crap just to get the engineering business.)  I will post updates once I have them in the Catleap Club thread.
