Have you got any proof? When i tried to RMA my 8800gt i was outside warranty. I had not registered it online.
I'm not sure what this "eu law" you're quoting is either.
The way AR-series products currently work in the EU
If you register the product within 30 days in Europe you receive a 10 year limited lifetime warranty. If the product is not registered within 30 days then it receives a minimum 2 year limited lifetime warranty (requires original purchase receipt) as required by European law. This is spelled out in the European warranty terms, available here:
We are currently revising our warranty terms and introducing a new global warranty. This will change the EU warranty terms for AR part numbers in this way:
The unregistered/late registered minimum warranty will change from 2 years to 3 years
The warranty will change from purchaser-based to product-based and is transferrable (lifetime / ten year warranty does not transfer)
However, based on the information I have your 8800GT will still be out of warranty.
Please be patient, the new warranty terms will be available for review after April 2nd.
