Stay away from the Imperator. The G5 is a very good mouse if you can afford it; don't really know about the Inferno, but the G400 isn't bad either.

Imperator is crap.

G400 is wrong on two of your points, as it is designed for palm grip and has an optical sensor.

G5 is more suitable for a palm grip as well, although it is a laser sensor.

Don't know about Inferno, sorry.

Why should the mouse be laser btw? The general consensus is that optical is "better"

You are kinda contradicting yourself here.

G400 isn't laser, but it is easily the best out of those at 800-400CPI.

Both the Inferno and the Imperator have a Phillips Twin Eye sensor, so it wouldn't be the best for competitive gaming but it is ok for other functions (casual).

G5 has a very low perfect control speed (PCS), after which it skips like crazy.

well i did ask y'all for a good laser mouse because....
It did test one of my cheapo optical mouse with the same mouse pad that i did own...it was HORRIBLe...
But soon what o did is that i did checked another cheapo mouse but a LASER one and was working great with it...

So wajted to knew that will any good or high end optical mouse available in the market will be working good with mousepad...

Any more input with some LINKs will be helpful...

Well you mentioned Cm storm weapon of choice, I have one, and have to say it has the best ergonomics of any mouse I've used (for claw grip that is). While this is a nice mouse, it does use an optical sensor ( a very good one at that ) if you really want lazer, you can get someting with the ADNS 9500, something like say the g9x is good for claw (i used to have an alienware tactx, which is a rebranded g9x), just make sure you use a HARD mat ( the 4HD/9HD from steelseries perform very well with these mice and can help minimize or even eliminate any acceleration problems).

You can also get a mouse that uses the twin eye sensor, as some people have said they perform rather well. Personally, I have had issues with the twin eye, when I used a razer lachesis. Although I was using it on a SS QCK mousepad, and I've heard that these sensors have z-Axis tracking issues, so that could have been my problem right there ( i was also using a subwoofer, so the vibrations could have effected this.)

What I would suggest is checking this thread: http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&id=2024663

The first post, has a rather concise list of mice using "flawless" sensors (ones with no real issues) and go on from there.

I think the G400 is an awesome mouse, newer ones use the 3095, but personally, i feel the shape is more suited to palm. I think this is basically a next gen mx518, and i used to have a pet peeve with my pinky/ring finger on the groove on the right side.

All in all, honestly, I've found that optical is MUCH better than laser sensors. I haven't had too many issues with my Spawn mouse, and my aim has never been better (due to the much better sensor). Don't buy into all the DPI BS. 1600 is more than enough for most purposes. I think your problem with checking the 2 cheapo mice (cheapo optical, vs cheapo laser) was just that, you were testing cheapo mice. A higher end optical can be just as good, even better than a high end laser. Just take a look at all the high level players that use optical for example. Lots use WMO 1.1 or IME 3.0 and play at 400 DPI, this just goes to show that a good sensor can go a long way.

Anyhow long wall of text, but hopefully this expands your choices and gives you some better insight into choosing something that works for you.
