norton oem vs retail

Thread Starter
Last year i built my pc and bought norton retail version coz it was cheaper. This year its only £11 for oem but on ebuyer and norton website it has all this babble about system builder license agreements so im unsure if im able to use this product

Im assuming its the same product but without the fancy retail box, i used to buy bullguard from the local pc shop and he just gave you a paper cased disc with a key on the back.

So do i have anything to worry about? Can i buy the oem or do i have to buy retail? I have 30 days left of my subscription so i will resubscribe as soon as it runs out

I don't think OEM is for personal use, the differences between retail and OEM are the license terms. "System builder" implies it's for installation on a PC that you build for a customer who you must provide support to. Retail is for your own use.

I'd rid myself of Norton and go for Avast + Comodo firewall or MSE...and buy beer with what you would have spent drunken.gifthumb.gif
