4870 upgrade

Hey OC'ers!

So I have only ever run the 4xxx Radeon series with an MSI 4670 first and then an Asus 4870 for the last year. I didn't really see much improvement with the upgrade but I stuck with it. The 4870 does everything I need it to do: all games at high quality in 1280 x 720 resolution. I have been really wanting to upgrade to the 6870 but I can't justify it to myself for some reason. The only benefits I see in upgrading are power consumption going down and less stress on the card for the same output? Can someone help me see the light and show me how my build will improve with the upgrade?

Take a look at that.

From what I see, the 6870 should perform 2x better than your 4870 while only consuming a little more power.

Upgrade to the 6870, it provides good performance with a reasonable price.

I am aware of that. I just wanted to know what kind of edge it gives me that I don't already have with the 4870

I don't know what you mean by edge, do you mean fps or features, the 6870 has DX 11
