2GB is fine for anything but high-AA on 3x 1080p (fine with lower), or 3x 2560x1440/2560x1600 monitors currently.

I found some of those posts interesting as in the past I have found VRAM numbers unreliable. I will most likely get a few 680's to start off with to test versus my 3GB 580's and see if the lower VRAM hurts in Surround. One benefit of my 3x FW900 portrait Surround though being CRT is that really low levels of AA are required due to the nautural softness of a CRT image.

Please post results if you do try it... I'm curious where the border of VRAM limitations even lies roughly on setups like yours.

Now I know no one probably has this info yet, but based on the past few launches, when do the Lightning and DirectCU versions typically come out after the initial launch?

Thx

Tools already are released for proper GK104 clocking. I posted it on Page 2 (MSI Afterburner beta). http://www.overclock.net/t/1232243/yt-nvidia-gtx680-no-fake/40_40#post_16770365

I still think the people who has to have the latest and greatest far outweigh the people who have the patience. I hope im right, because that would mean when everyone wants to jump on the Kelper wagon, the second hand market will flood with slightly used HD 7000 series cards. Which should stir up the market a bit and push prices down even more (supply/demand).

This is why I don't buy AMD anymore. I buy on launch and their drivers are just terrible at launch, and subpar even after a few months. Nothing against AMD but they need to improve their driver department. They make great products that end up being more of a headache than they are worth. I see many 7970 owners going to the 680 because of this. NVIDIA drivers have been nothing but amazing for me, the last major problems I had on them were back when Vista first came out.

I see many 590 owners also going to the 680.
