Yet another 3820 Build Thread - Page 2

They did this to me my first build ther a couple of years ago. Not sure why they don't give you a message saying please verify but I found out the same way you did, checking the status.

I just build a new 3820 system myself and they just sent it same day, so I assume it's only for your first order over x amount.

I just checked the status of the order I placed yesterday and saw that it was still "Verification Pending." I asked why didn't they contact me and he said because they don't do that. I asked what would have happened if I hadn't happened to check the status and notice that it hadn't shipped yet and never called them. He said it would have sat this way for 5 days and then I would have been contacted.....
Does anyone else find this unacceptable?
What if I had paid for overnight shipping because I needed the item the next day? What if something goes out-of-stock during the time that I placed the order and the time I actually realized it hadn't shipped yet? He wouldn't bump up the shipping mode either to compensate me for the day that I've lost already.
I'm really kind of upset about this. Was anyone else aware that Newegg does this?
Am I overeacting?

Weird. Never had this happen but I usually pay with paypal or my line of credit with them.

Congrats! I just ordered a 3820 from amazon.com and its on its way. I bought a preowned x79 board from the market. Can't wait to start overclocking. Will be a different experience compared to my old setup (2600k).

48 Hours, funds have been taken from my account, no change in status......I officially hate Newegg. Sucks cuz I used to love em. Will never use them again.

Thanks for sympathizing with me dude. It sucks frown.gif

I guess it could be worse though. I could NOT be getting a new rig next week instead of getting a bunch of sick hardware....It's not so bad, I could live in a third world villiage where the inhabitants are paid nothing to disassemble and precipitate precious metals out of old used electronic hardware while at the same time, ruining their natural eco-system. For a "non-profit" company that makes a ton of dough.......Ah, but I digress.

If I recall when I had this issue with new egg it was the credit card company I had to call as well. They were the ones holding it up.

Did you use your credit card? Best way to avoid this is to use paypal. You can link your credit cards and checking accounts to paypal. I know they aren't the best company to use when selling, but as a buyer its flexible and fast.

No I used my debit card, but I should have just used paypal. It's the same card that's linked to it anyhow. Next time it will be paypal for sure.

WOW... waiting a few days does suck...
I remember ordering my first rig from TigerDirect, took a few phone calls and stuff.... They didn't know what/where Guam was.
I too used my CC, a U.S bank at that and still need verification..... Later though, when I bought my GTX 470 and some other doodads I used paypal.. they didn't have any issues.. I did have to call them though....

Good Luck with your new build...
