Then I'll decide I only run 1 monitor at 1008p so 2GB v 3GB wont make that much diff to me.

Do you know when we can get our hands on them? The time zone stuff does my head in...

You don't even need one. A GTX 580 is more than enough for 2 more years. srsly guys y'all are buying off all these expensive cards when most of y'all don't need 'em. Damn, paying more than 500 bucks for a tflagship single gpu is ridiculous. I made the mistake of buying a 5970 for nearly 700 bucks (sold it back for 550) never spending over 350 bucks for a card again. If we keep doing this, they're gonna think these prices are OK

Geez, just poking some fun.

Some people here use GPUs for other than gaming where the investment either pays for itself or we just perfer to have what is best at the moment. For others they may be doing their once-in-a-few-years build and want the latest and greatest since they do have the money to spend.

I like folding and gaming but I also use the cards in various business applications so no big deal here. I over compensated in power originally, realized that less is more and sold what I had so I can easily afford a card now. If spending what the market deems worthy for the best of the best isn't for you, well, just wait then.

I'm not saying everything should be super expensive but fabbing is in the hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars. Not going to make that back with cheap products.

Oh wait... I'm sorry this is generally an enthusiast forum. Maybe I'm too excited...nah wink.gif. biggrin.gif
