Help wanted overclocking a Zotac GTS450-ECO please...

Hi,

I got this video card for physx in Batman because its a single slot card that will fit among other cards where I don't have room for a double pci-e width video card. Anyhow GPU-Z identifies this card as a GF116 gpu @600mhz core and 1200mhz shader, and 1333 mhz ddr3. Compared to my GTX480 the 450GTS idles at like 33 degrees and hits like 42-44 degrees under load doing physx calculations. Only thing is this card doesn't have any pci-e power hookups. So I've been using EVGA Precision software to raise to core and shader clocks up a little but other GTS450 cards out there have their core clocks at least at 700-900 mhz! So this gpu must have some overclocking headroom you would think??

Thanks.

yours not having the power hook up is probably a gimped version for lower power usage. Keep OCing until you get a crash or performance suffers

Well got it to 650mhz (up 50mhz). Temps are like really low! If its anything like cpu overclocking may not need voltage increase. Bet it could go higher. Not sure how safe it is if i try for 700/1400 mhz...

Thanks

LIke I said keep going without changing the voltage until you get a crash or lower performance and you wont be hurting it
