Newest driver troubles. - Page 2

No link but I've been able to fold on version 296.180 for Windows 7 and version 296.17 for Windows 8. Oh you're talking about what I mentioned about nvidia? That's in their forum by driver version.

So they didn't actually mention folding anywhere did they? That was a user's impression like yours saying that it was fixed. I was just interested to see if nvidia had actually acknowledged that people use their drivers for folding. They mention every time they get a 4% performance improvement for a 10 year old game but they don't mention when the fix the new and interesting way they broke their drivers for folding. This time it's only been like a month of driver version that had the monitor sleep problem, but they've had driver that were completely broken for folding for 6 months.

Ok what does that have to do with the topic? I was only mentioning it so OP could see if they fixed their problems.

I didn't mean for that to come off as offensive or dismissive of you, though I can see how you read it that way. I was just explaining why I asked for the link, because I was really hoping that Nvidia had actually acknowledged folders and how they break their drivers for us fairly often. Sorry if you were offended or though I was too off topic.

Oh well it's no biggie, I do wonder how OP is doing, I guess they'll be on in several hours and we'll find out.

School does that... lol

Anyways, currently I am running the latest official GTX 400 series driver and I still get the sleep problem. Even with monitor sleep disabled. It's weird, because when it is folding, it's only folding at about 90% on these drivers. I think I'll just wait for the next drivers, I honestly don't care tons about points or anything, so gaming performance takes it's priority. I think it isn't right for nVidia to have known about this for so long, and not fixed it. Maybe it's more complicated than it appears or something, or it could be on Stanford's side, but I would like to know.

I'm having this same problem with my gtx580 sli rig. Last weekend, I installed ME3 and the new (296.10) nvidia drivers and now both of my cards 'go to sleep' after folding a WU. If I shutdown FAH and immediately restart, it picks up and starts folding again. My other rig (gtx480 sli) has the previous generation of drivers and is perfectly fine. Has anyone come up with a solution?

Try one of those two options TMTNET. I would just roll back to 290.63 if you want it fixed, but the monitor sleep has worked for some.

Thanks, Juano--I will try monitor sleep first since it is easier/faster and I did have it turned on. If not, then I will try the driver rollback.

Turning off monitor sleep seems to have worked. [+Rep]

But now I've picked up a P76xx WU and it is crawling along at 29 minutes per frame and GPU usage is less than 50%! Any suggestions
