Ok I got a question to the club. First let me start off by saying the my GTX 680 has great temps and runs awesome at stock. HOWEVER....

I originally got an OC - Power Boost +125% Clock +140 Memory +400 and was able to get through a 3DMark11 bench.

Now for the life of me I cannot even replicate that OC anymore. Drivers fail and in Heaven benchmark 3D11 Windows App error. I'm first going to assume it's me doing something wrong because I see so many other members who are getting crazy higher results. Only other possibility is I did not get lucky with my GPU and it's just a lousy over clocker. The highest OC I can obtain is 100 Mhz on the core and 100 Mhz Memory.

I down to running the fan maxed at 85% during my benching because my aggressive fan curve might not be working. I've tried both scenarios.

Case has great ventilation with fans positioned optimized.
I've restarted the system now every time the drivers failed to reset.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've gone through the Nvidia Control Panel settings and have read every setting and chose the best option for performance. Anyone else going through this or perhaps know what might be my issue?

Call me jealous but I'd love to run my card as fast as most are in the club too. My GTX 580 ran 900 Mhz at stock voltage 24/7 for a year with no problem.

3DMark11 9521 I got this new score with +100 Mhz Core and +200 Memory.

Validation

338

I can't go any higher than this without driver failure.

Now maybe I'm just reading it wrong because GPU Boost is working behind the scenes and I just don't know it. Example is when I run EVGA OC Scanner X 2.0.0 and see the following log text:

2012/03/31 @ 00:04:39 >> - GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680

2012/03/31 @ 00:04:39 >> - Fan speed: 34%

Is the card actually being boosted to 1411 Mhz Core clock?

I guess the new GPU Boost is messing me up because I'm only at +100 Core and see others sliding it higher %. Me feel dumb. questionmark.gif

Last question is I have GPU Boost at +132 but my voltage has stayed stock default for me at 0.987V. I know the limit according to Jacob is at 1.175V. How do I force voltage so I can get a higher OC.

All GTX680's are monster overclockers............ Can anybody guess why?
- Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Its because it was originally meant to be the GTX 670 at 705mhz core clock

Ye, if the rumors that they bumped up the clock speed of an already finished card to get the GTX 680 are true then they all OC amazingly. OTOH, what if it was originally a low clocked version of the high-end card? We can't really say for sure.

Question on the EVGA and EVGA superclocked, Can you mix and match these and run SLI?
I have the stock EVGA 680 and if I can snag another 680 or superclocked 680. would I be able to run SLI?

Low clocked version of the high end card? That doesn't make sense. Apparently it is the high-end card, so how can it be the low clocked version of itself? That would mean that they have another gK104 but with higher clocks. And that is not possible.
Why you ask?

Because EVGA only make Hydro Coppers for the flagship Nvidia card

Yeah definitely. The SC is just a factory core clock bump, thats all.

Think thats what it really is, Nvidia thought they could continue on the regular below 800mhz coreclock cycle they were going for. They saw AMD. They had to pump up the clocks. And only took em... 4 months! biggrin.gif

From most of the rumors I read, Nvidia was going to be releasing the gk110, upon the 7970 release, decided that there was no need to release it, and decided instead to just release what was supposed to be their mid range kepler card as the flagship, and save their gk110 until amd had something to actually compete in all segments.

RUMORS - KEEP THAT IN MIND BEFORE YOU FLAME THIS POST.
