Not nearly the 7970 killer I expected tho
Well beats it in 1920x1200
res in just about every bench.
Now challenges AMD on multiple monitors up to 5760x1200
with single card and compares right on pa
r without AMD having edge, even with one less GB of VRAM.
No contest better hands down 3DVision, and across three screens now. $50 less for more perfomance basically. I could give you many reasons why that's completely true as that's my main interest with my system and did my homework.
AMD held top card for two and a half months where Nvidia 580 held top single GPU for a year. I'd say its impressive
. Now throw in price / performance and even raw performance
goes to Nvidia.
Having said that the 7970 is still a great card and the performance of both are sweet cards. You don't have to be impressed but we are
in this club.
Not saying you are saying anything wrong but I will remind you is the 680 Club thread for owners and we arent going put up with AMD fans coming over here debating and downing our cards. Kind of tired of it. You can post your questions in the many other 680 threads that aren't club forums.
We respect the 7970 & 7950 Club thread and expect the same. We both deserve a safe heaven.
Start a post perhaps in the 'General Cards' area if you'd like an over clock debate because we'd like to reserve this space for 680 members to discuss our cards as we learn how to push its potential. I know soon that RaginCain will be starting a benchoff thread soon inviting both sides to join. Keep your eyes peeled.
