Yep funny how things work when you live on a little island, i managed to get myself a EVGA 680 at 5pm on release day and they still had 8 left.
No UK website i seen was even taking Pre-orders or even displaying them the day before release.
Yet loads of people all over the world are still hitting Ctrl+R on a website waiting for a card to come into stock.

But i have just seen some Pre-Orders for the EVGA FTW 4GB version, so called 27th of April. Thats £170 more than what i payed for mine!

Is it not possible that the difference in framerate is due to something else? AA not working properly? Tessellation? Who knows

It isn't just one benchmark, I also ran it on Heaven 3.0 and the results were just as dramatic. All settings between runs are exactly the same. The only difference being the PCI-E bus speed. Nothing with AA or tessellation is changing and the results are exactly duplicated just by changing the PCI-E speed setting in the BIOS. Tests don't get any more straight forward and simpler than this.

I love how people think PCI-E 2.0 is magical and will never get bottle-necked lol even under extreme stress like in my tests.

Thanks for that info. This means I'm definitely choking my cards just a bit by running on PCI-E 2.0 x8/x8.

You recently upgraded to the 2011 platform? I thought you had a 2600K.

His sig says a R IV Formula with a 3820. You can see even 16x PCI-E 2.0 may not be enough as his FPS increased with 3.0. I am thinking that maybe even my Rampage IV Extreme running 16x/8x/8x/8x 4-way SLI at PCI-E 3.0 isn't enough and I should look into the ASRock Extreme 11 that has a PLX chip to do Quad-16x PCI-E 3.0. eek.gif
