EVGA looks to have been crippled by incoming requests. I have uploaded a mirror of Precision X for those having trouble completing the download:

I just bought an MSI GTX 680 from Tigerdirect (matches my motherboard, which is nice.)

Will the care be able to bit-stream HD audio like my 6950s?

Congrats! applaud.gif

Well it's rather simple. I myself switched after many years of ATI over to Nvidia just last year for the first time with the GTX 580 and it's been a breeze for me. I've not had any issues at all with drivers, game crashes, BSOD's, etc... since.

You can start by familiarizing yourself with the Nvidia Control Panel Manual.

This video is really just to see what it looks like. Simple demonstration overview really. Once installed it's in a 'right click' on desktop pop up option. It's easier to navigate than CCC IMO. Just go through all the links when you install it and you will find it's pretty straight forward.

One very nice thing about the drivers - during install of a new driver set, It removes the old drivers with a 'clean uninstall' during your installation prior to the update of the newer driver. No more need for any other third party driver removal software.

When I did my switch I did start from a 'clean install' of windows but it was just coincidence because it was the same time I got a new HDD when I installed my Nvidia GPU. It made everything very simple. Haven't had one issue since I installed it on Jan 15, 2011.

I only install final release drivers and don't ever bother to check out 'beta' versions. I'm not paid to be a beta tester and honestly if there is any bugs I don't care to find out until Nvidia did their homework and cleaned it for me.

Nicest feature for me anyway was they recently no longer require separate drivers for 3D Vision. Included now in all drivers is everything bundled together. If you don't use 3D Vision it dose't conflict at all with you anyway. All it does is updates new capable 3D Vision games and improves others.

I started my own thread on Nvidia 3D Vision Monitor Specs & Nvidia 3D Driver Specs. It was actually the reason I switched from AMD 6870's crossfire to Nvidia to turn my rig into a 3D gaming and watching 3D blu-ray movies system last year. After much homework I've found Nvidia does 3D much better. cool.gif

Here are a couple of posts I responded to in regards to 3D Vision if you should decide to look into it now that you'll be capable if you have the right monitor or for anyone else for that matter that may have switched to the GTX 680.

How good is Nvidia 3D? & 120hz and 3D monitor questions.

You'll love EVGA btw. Consider them like what Sapphire is to AMD. Discreet Nvidia vendor. Only main difference other than quality is they have the best customer support and just recently improved thier warranty so it's serial based and now transferrable. Though you don't have to I'd register it for some extra perks within 30 days of purchase.

See you around the threads. thumb.gif

@Arizonian

Cheers, im not on 3D so ill not be using that. When i built my PC i wanted a EVGA Nvidia card in the first place but that was when ATI had all the DX11 and Nvidia was no where in sight. Hence the reason i ended up with CF 5770. Must admit they have been great cards and play everything i chuck at them and stay so cool. Just started to notice these past few months that games have just took that little step forward now and Fraps are getting low in some. So time for a change.
So ive gone from 6GB RAM to 24GB RAM added a SSD boot drive and now the 680! lol, think i better stop the upgrades for a bit now! lol
