I can't believe they're still this hard to get a hold of. I really don't wanna buy one off Tigerdirect because then I have to deal with 3-5 day shipping and taxes. Also the card sells for 30 bucks more on tigerdirect.

If you can be at a pc its not all that hard. I just missed a couple from my phone yesterday. Got home and had one within an hour. Yes that was kind of lucky but if you run check 4 change on the product pages. Not on the main 680 page. I would say 1-4 PST is the peak times but my first one I got was at 9am PST.

Man, and here I thought getting a GTX 580 last year was hard, lol. I can't imagine what kind of effort needs to be put in when the 4GB GTX 680's become "available". redface.gif And, what about GK110? eek.gif

I have to hand it to them, Nvidia really pulled an ace out of their sleeves with this generation! thumb.gif

Negative. I didn't say anything about noise levels. All I said was that they have similar cooling performance, as in load max gaming temp (twin frozr II 580 vs stock 680). I use noise canceling headphones so noise doesn't really affect my choice of GPUs.

My 680 is so quiet sometimes I have to tap it just to make sure it's running. wink.gif

I'm drunk and about to pull the trigger on the first non-reference cooling version of the gtx 680 from gigabyte (found a place that will exchange my kidney for one but i still need to pay shipping). I've had a new build sitting without a gpu for a month....

It has 8 pin and 6 pin power, stays at around 60c under 100% load. BUT from the one review i've read, it won't overclock as high as reference design ones...

Maybe the gigabyte software for oc isn't very good.

lol complain about 30 bucks. Costs 750$ in the kingdom of China where the card is manufactured. You don't know how lucky you are.

I have one of those Gigabyte cards on the way, costs about the same (overpriced) in Aus too.

Nice, let us know how it oc (if your going to oc it). Theoretically it should be able to oc higher since is TDP is 300 watts with the 8 plus 6 pin but reviewers have found it oc less than reference gtx680. The gigabyte software won't let you push it too far.

Question: Why is it that in GPU-Z my boost clock says 1189MHz, but my gpu runs at 1230MHz in BF3? Is this normal?

I'm sorry if this has been asked a lot.

486

When playing BF3.

486

So, it is boosting past it's boost? It's like hidden Nitrous Oxide on a turbocharged car. It's a boost inside a boost inside a boost. We heard you like boost so we put some boost in your boost.

In Afterburner, I am set to +130 Core and +200 Mem.
