What kind of frames should I normally be getting in Skyrim with 680 SLI and a 2550K at stock speeds? I'm getting good frames, but they still seem a little low for 680 SLI. :/

Edit: Never mind, it was a Vsync issue. Getting like 150 frames now.

70'C on load must be on water or fan speed at 85%... which is loud.

Plag is not thinking straight.

Anyway the average fps in this game on Ultra seems to be ~70. With dips to 50 occasionally.

Add me to the Club, got my EVGA GTX 680 SC last Wednesday
This might be old news but I have not seen it mentioned : Before a received my card I saw some "unboxing" videos and all cards show "nvidia" logo at the PCB by the PCIe connector. That is as expected because they were initially reference cards manufactured by nvidia.
My card is the reference design, but it shows EVGA logo in the PCB, and comes with the “high flow” bracket installed.
Here is a pic
450
Does it mean that eVGA is already shipping their own manufactured GTX 680?

What does yours do? In a micro atx case with a 1:1 fan curve mine stays at or below 70. Water would be more like 50.

Debating on whether to pick up another 680 for SLI or get a 120Hz monitor. Seeing as I limited by PCIE 2.0 8x / 8x when in SLI or CFX, the latter choice seems like the better option. What do you guys think?

Stress test on stock fan profile hits 80'C mark and stays there. If I go custom fan profile it hits 71-74'C now on stress test benchmark. Real time in games would be low 60-70'C and all these tests are not overclocked. The youtube video is overclocked to 1200+ Mhz core and he is still able maintain the temp down 70'C.

Well a 120Hz monitor is really nice upgrade as a gaming monitor. Will bring you to a new level. It renders twice as many in between fames for a more fluid, less blurry feel.

Get the right monitor and turn your system into an Nvidia 3D Vision gaming system and for watching 3D blu-ray movies is also a nice little perk. Nvidia does it best too.

If your thinking of a new monitor please feel free to click my link in signature for a thorough look at Nvidia 3D Vision capable mointors for spes and to familarize yourself about the 3D aspect.

Even if you don't choose an Nvidia 3D Vision capable monitor the 120Hz monitor will still make a great 2D gaming monitor. thumb.gif

120Hz refresh comparison link.

This is reviewing a BenQ XL2410 120Hz monitor but Linus on the side explains 120Hz very well.

That's just me personally, I'd go for the system upgrade with a monitor. You got a great video card already. Will play the hell out of many games over 60 FPS. You can pick up a nice monitor for $400 on average.

If your interested I'll go into much more detail.

Down the road if you do eventually go SLI with a 120Hz monitor you'll get crazy playable FPS.

Some will say go IPS for truer color but if you not using your monitor for photography or video rendering where color accuracy is important it doesn't hold as much weight.

Some who haven't tried it will say it's not worth spending the money but if you got the 'itch' it's a very nice one to scratch.

Some who have it say 'meh' not exactly what they were expecting but won't go back to a 60Hz if you ask them, if that tell you something. wink.gif

For me after having one over a year from 23" to 27" both 120Hz, going back to a 60Hz would be like giving up my DVD's for 8 track tapes to listen to music. tongue.gif

Hey all! Got my GPU cooler bracket in a few days ago and finally got the chance to get it installed. Here are some pics!

Gotta say the temps have dropped a good amount. Idle temps dropped a bit (~72F ambients right now) down to ~26-27C. But, the load temps are fantastic. After 1 hour of BF3 gaming, the highest I saw my 680 get to was 46C. AMAZING. Thanks so much Dwood! (see his brackets here)

Time for so better OCs on this beast.

EDIT: here is a quick shot on my current clock. I have run 3x Heaven benchmarks, no crashes. Also about 15 mins into a Furmark burn right now.
