Is it better generally to use the pci-e slot closer to the power supply or higher up? It's on the lowest slot atm, which puts it closer to two fans which are blowing air up towards it. If I put it in the upper slot it covers the chipset which I guess might mean it has worse cooling.+ rep
Glad it was just a config issue! I think another user already answered the question about the pcie. Just make sure that the slot you're using is an x16 slot. You should be able to verify that it is running at x16 with GPU-Z.

Did the same thing. I just applied a low, super stable overclock and called it a day. There is certainly something to be said for stability when it comes to gaming.Edited by svthomas - 4/24/12 at 1:23pm
