I had a problem where my FPS would randomly drop from 60 to 30 like it could make up it's mind. I did a reinstall of the drivers and picked the clean install option with the newest beta drivers, everything was fine after that.

Well after doing 4 Reinstall's I am done with it for now, will def look at the 680 in the future but for now the "issues" bug me.
A lot of guys buy cards to bench...I buy cards to game...I expected a flawless gaming experience..and it wasn't and yeah according to you
a small amount of people are suffering from it but it just so happens that I am one of them.

I live in South Africa..We pay a lot more for pc parts, so we expect more from them, maybe I am being unrealistic or maybe I am just plain full of crap but the 680 cost me $800 if you do a direct currency conversion.
I expect perfection for that amount of cash.

Well you may want to rethink your switch a bit if its all for the gaming. The 680 has less gaming issues (even with single cards) than the 7970's do.

Read through their club thread for the proof. The last 20 pages at least and you'll get a very good idea what their dealing with. They are doing re-installs of OS almost every time there is a driver update to clear their issues and roll back. You'll be doing plenty of the re-installs there more than here, I can guarantee that. I haven't done one re-install of OS since switching to this side of the fence. Some are having complete crashing trying to game with final release drivers. Most are using the RC11 drivers still.

Your MS issues are real for you but very uncommon to almost non-existent, unheard of on single GPU really. That link you posted was a very limited issue as Enternal7ntrance pointed out. I have a feeling it's something that's an easy fix your missing and we've not been able to pin point for you. Wish I had the answer to save you more grief.

We'll I have had 2 7970's, so I also know about the issues with those cards.
Main reason I changed to the 680...CF issues..**** I wanted to burn down my pc.

I did run a single 7970 and it was fine for me, I had no issues to speak of really.
Nothing that changed my gaming experience in a negative way I should say.

The one good thing that has come out of this (for me an anyway) is that the performance gap between amd and nvidia is almost non exsistent.
I think Nvidia has the upper hand with superior drivers (Most of the time) lol but other than that the gap is now tiny, which is awesome
fo us as consumers.

Well I'm sure right now you won't having any problems selling off your GTX 680's as they are in high demand and supply is limited. You'll be able to recoup all your money right now. If your going to do it now's the time. thumb.gif

Yip already have a buyer and all I am losing out on is the Shipping to him which works out to about $30. So not a huge loss at least.

Hey guys check out this zotac. It has voltage control it looks like you need their software. They were able to get the voltage to 1.35, and the core to 1400. But the card hit 95c at one point lol. Max voltage is 1.5v tongue.gif

Idk how much going from 1.175 to 1.2 will help. Sure it will do something but I want MORE!

Edit: Like I said, not taking anything away from the card..I think its fantastic...Nvidia did a epic job as usual but for now its taking a back seat till the little issues are solved.

So you had this issue across complete OS reinstalls? Or just driver reinstalls? If you haven't reinstalled your OS, you may want to--especially if you've had AMD GPU drivers on it. This is obvious, though. Best of luck with your switch.

Anyone else getting occasional freezes in BF3?
You're playing the game, then suddenly, it freezes, black screen. I alt tab, everything seems normal (except for the game) I get no driver crash or anything. But I have to use task manager in order to turn off BF3.

This is what happens to me when I have an unstable OC. Is this at stock or overclocked. If oc'd you need to drop it down a notch.

BF3 is weird with these clocks sometimes I can play for an hour and think its stable. And then play again and it freezes 10 minutes in.
