BF3 is weird with these clocks sometimes I can play for an hour and think its stable. And then play again and it freezes 10 minutes in.

Ive played the game for hours, and also shogun 2 FOTS, Civ 5 and other games and Ive yet to get one of these freezes.

But in BF3 sometimes I get this freeze + black screen. But no driver crash, its weird.

I just resolved an issue involving my gtx 680. At random times while playing battlefield 3, the game would turn black and minimize (other games would drop to +-10fps), and could only be closed with task manager. Sometimes a notice would appear that told me that my display driver crashed. I followed these instructions to fix it: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=211808 in case anyone here is dealing with the same issue.

Does this happen at stock as well? Sounds like unstable Overclock on the GPU, this is the common crash on BF3 when a GPU overclock (Core Clock mainly) is unstable. wink.gif

I experience the same thing, and typically when it is an unstable OC. I am able to run Heaven benches and Furmark 20 mins with my 1305mhz boost OC, but BF doesn't seem to like it.. Sometimes 5 minutes in, sometime 30 minutes in, the game will go black. I can then alt tab and everything looks fine, but I need to close BF3 from task manager because it won't open. There is a fine line for me it looks like. If I take the PrecisionX ticker for core clock down one from the + that gives me 1305mhz with boost (not on my home PC right now, can't remember the + clock) everything works fine in BF3. I settled for ~1289mhz with boost in BF3.

hello, just a quick question. I currently run 2 Asus gtx570 CUII in SLI, I would like to either buy a single 680gtx to replace them ( gettinag another down the road sometime) or buy water cooling blocks for them and overclock..which option would be more beneficial for me? I play BF3 and will probably get back into WoW to start arenas again. Any help or suggestion would be very appreciated. Thank you guys
