And with 100mhz higher clock he is 500 points higher than me on the gpu. 3dmark seems to fluctuate a lot between rigs. But he also scored 50 points higher than me in heaven.

Yeah, i was meant to say in that last post:
After a close look there isn't alot in it at all.
If this turns out to be the case across the board, i think alot of 680 owners have something to be angry about. But then this is what can happen if you jump on a brand new chip without everything out there for reviews to compare with...

Yes this is very true. And I figured all along the reason nvidia only released the top card instead of two like amd, was to score more big money sales.

A lot of people would probably buy a 670 at launch (not because of this info but in general) but are impatient and just sprung for a 680.

Well when looking at 3DMark11 Scores - unless you have exact identical system specs down to the CPU & RAM judging a card can be misleading.

One way to get an idea would be perhaps just looking at the graphic score instead of the total combined score which takes other things into consideration on final result.

Thats what I have been looking at. That guys max oc vs. my max oc gets hit 500 more points in the gpu score. Thats a pretty big margain in 3dmark. And I believe I have the better system otherwise for whatever thats worth.

Its just all kind of confusing at this point.

It's not confusing it all, we've been had. Everyone keeps saying "wait for new drivers!" "Wait for release date! We'll see then!" No need to; I know the answer already. I thought something was funky with these cards the day I got mine. Total 500 dollar bummer.

Lol, theres no way this could just be drivers. If it is the 680 should get a sweet boost when it gets its real drivers redface.gif

I got a question for you guys that bought 680s on launch. When did Newegg release them? Like what time of day? Is it at night or first thing in the morning?

I scored mind at 7:30 AM. When I woke up at 7:10 m it was sold out. I dropped kid off at school, got home, refreshed page and there it was. I really believe it was someones credit card declined and they put it back into inventory but no way to prove that.
