Alright, so I finally decided to pull the trigger on getting the Zotac GTX 680 4gb version. It was the last one on amazon and will be arriving next Thursday, just in time for GW2 bwe#2!!!!!!! Been thinking about a 690 of a 4gb 680 for a while, and after having to be on a waiting list for the 690 for 39 days, I canceled my order and grabbed the 680 4gb as soon as I saw it back in stock....but I got it for $775....It's bundled with 3 Assassins Creed games ^.^'. Will post next week when it arrives....

Goodbye 560ti's!!!!

Says on the EK website that they are currently working on a waterblock for the Direct CU II 680!thumb.gif I know the stock cooler is awesome, I juist like the watercooled look better.

I think I'm going to pick this badboy up!smile.gif

Lucky me, I have one on hold at a local computer store here.tongue.gif

I got my Asus gtx680 a couple hours ago and must say I'm impressed. It passes 3dmark Vantage @1330Mhz. I know 1300Mhz will be bullet proof stable imo.

When EK releases the waterblock, I'm going to get that asap. Might help a tad for max stable clocks.

Happy guy here!smile.gif

My Fellow OCNs i need your help, im going to describe my problem so that maybe (and just maybe) someone can help me out, im completelly disoriented right now that i dont know what to do.

Look, i have an ASROCK Z68 Extreme 7 MOBO and this are my specs:

Processor: Core i5 3570k
Power Supply: Antec 750W
Memory: 8GB G. Skill Ripjaws
Video Cards: 2 GTX 680s

The NVIDIA drivers im using are the newest ones (301.42) and the BIOS firmware of the MOBO is the newest one (2.10)

My problem is the following:

When i try to connect both video cards in SLI mode with a SLI bridge (in the first adjacent PCIe Slots from top to bottom) the computer starts up, shows the BIOS logo and then a black screen with a blinking dash appears on the top left of the screen and it gets stuck there (the MOBO does not give me any error codes since when that happens all the lights on the MOBO shut down, like when Windows starts).
I tried log to windows in safe mode with no luck (the black screen appears with the blinking logo)

So, i already troubleshooted a couple of things:

* I already tested the video cards individually and they work fine on their own (but not together)
* MOBO starts perfectly to windows with only one card
* I discovered that just connecting the second video card to the PCI slot gives me the black screen (i mean without connecting the SLI bridge)
* I already tried another SLI bridge to no avail (the black screen appears)
* I tried changing the default device for video to onboard (switched from PCI to Onboard) to see if with the onboard video i would be able to get into windows but the same black screen with a blinking dash appears.

What i think is like if the MOBO does not know what to do with 2 cards connected at the same time but i might be mistaking, i mean, i was awoke yesterday till 2:00am trying to figure out a way to solve this but had no luck

I dont know what to do, is there anyone that has gone through something similar to what im experiencing? Any suggestion is welcome guys and gals, thanks in advance for your help!

Back in the day when i first tried to sli my 480's for the first time, i found out that it was my power supply was at fault as i had a store bought dell with a 300 watt power supply.... since it was power hungry i needed at least 600 watts.....so i took out everything from my dell, bought a true mid tower case and a 850 watt psu, put everything back inside and it became my very first (semi) custom build.... and then my 1st sli connection worked.

Now im not saying it could be the same for you, but have you checked our power requirements thoroughly?

Hmmm, ok, thanks for the advice but yes, in fact my power supply is capable of running this build.
I has never shown any signs of not being able to power it up...

I unfortunatelly dont have another one to test the computer but my logic dictates that if it would not be capable of powering my build it would had not even turned on but i dont know...

Trying disconnecting one of the cards and turn on the pc. Go into the nvidia control panel and turn the options all to default settings. Next if you have any over clocking software, make sure those are also on default settings. You want to make everything at default settings. If you over clocked through the motherboards ui, put the setting on default on there. Now try connecting the 2 cards together. If it works, to to nvidia control panel and turn on sli. Then restart your computer.
