Why anyone would have the 4GB version or 2 of these and still game on only a single 1080p panel is beyond me big waste. If you can spend a grand + or give or take on card(s) you can surely get 3 displays or a 30 inch 2560 x 1600 display to game on.

@solider1969 - a 120 Hz monitor is a good reason for an SLI set up on single 1920x1080p monitor. Then throw in 3D Vision where normal FPS gets cut by 45% is another reason.

Owning three 3D Vision monitors is a huge expense when a 23" monitor is $400 and a 27" is $550 minus the glasses and emitter price.

The only other reason to go with a 4 GB card now on single 60 Hz monitor is if you plan on keeping it a few years to buy yourself some extra VRAM cushion.

Otherwise I agree anything past 2 GB on single 60 Hz monitor is wasted with no performance gains.

On a side note: nice rig. I see you have an Apple keyboard with your Microsoft Winows rig. I take it works. Any special drivers? Got a link to which one you bought? How does it work performance wise gaming?

I just got my second FTW 680 4gb. I know it seems like a waste with my monitor but I have a dell 30" U3011 on the way also. I would also like to be set up for anything I want to do in the next couple years. Time to run some benchmarks.450450450

Hey guys.

I ran into a small technical issue last night. I finally managed to get a dual link DVI converter for the one DVI port on the card. I tried hooking a 3rd monitor up....and nothing.
My current 2 working screens are 1x 23" LED via HDMI and 1x 20" LED via the 1 standard DVI port with a converter.

The 3rd screen I wanted to hook up was an older 19" square screen that only has VGA input. I connected it to the new DVI converter and no display. It picks up the screen in windows display settings and in the Nvidia control panel, but there's no signal on the screen. I even tried changing the resolution to 800x600 on the 19" and playing with the refresh rate...no dice.

I will try switching the 20" and 19" around tonight so that the 20" is on the dual link dvi converter and the 19" on the standard DVI converter tonight, but I doubt it will make a difference.

Oh, I'm not planning on playing games on all 3 screens, just on the 23" while the other 2 are used for firefox and monitoring software.

Any thoughts?

@Arizonian..The apple slim keyboard is just plug and play, got it locally at BB for $50 had it now for a couple years and never had issues with it. I prefer the shorter strokes when typing as opposed to longer mechanical keys on a normal keyboard. Gaming works fine with it. Its like using a laptop keyboard.

My EVGA 680 fits just fine in my HAF 932 with no issues, plenty of room. Hope this helps.
