I'm guessing I could get $300 or so each for my 580 Lightnings?

What is the voltage limit? But yeah is there a way to manually set the voltage and what is the limit? Or do you just set the clock speed and cross your fingers, hoping the card will deliver the required voltage without going over this too-low temp ceiling?

Lowest one on eBay is selling for $400 and there is a bid for that one. The others are 'Buy It Now' for $400 or higher. I'd say you could definitely put it on there for $375 and get a bite or two.

Decided to treat myself and get my first "high end" card of my life.

Don't really benchmark too much but here is a free edition Heaven benchmark. Everything was left stock. tongue.gif Don't know why it's showing Intel Graphics . . . That would be pretty damn good if true!

I don't have the 680 yet but was curious is there a slider as HardOCP claims that we can adjust GPU Boost?
Quote:
GPU Boost has a nifty little slider in it labeled "Target Framerate" as well. Using GPU Boost to reign in some of your "extra" framerate power while using Adaptive Vsync may be just what the doctor ordered.)

I can't wait to get my hands on it on Monday night so I can start tinkering with it. biggrin.gif

Both the cards I got can't go past 135.

3dMark11 is not a valid test for stability on this card. I can pass it easily at the 200 he posted, but heaven crashes instantly. Furmark loads my card to 60%, so it's also not a valid test.

Alright looks like I figured how to finally improve performance with OC, 130% Power Target seemed to help.

Stock:

338

Overclocked:

392

338

If my math doesn't fail me (ELP3 biggrin.gif), that's a ~15% speed increase in Core clock and a ~15% performance again.

We're talking of a 15% performance gain so far without any voltage bump, that is simply amazing! eek.gif

I'll keep testing maybe I can reach +160MHz or even +180MHz, but so far I am damn impressed, +150MHz on stock volts, wow.. biggrin.gif

Also just to make sure, you restarted your computer and/or reset precision overclock after the driver crash? After your driver crashes it screws up your OC in precision and heaven will only get about 90% of the normal frames. Making unstable overclocks seem stable. I've just been restarting my computer after every crash... If I don't I can do +190/+500 stable, but as soon as I restart... +140/+500 crashes immediately. EVGA rep posted and that the behavior is normal.

EDIT: I just had a driver crash and tried "reseting" the overclock in precision but it still did not restore 100% performance. Seems like you have to restart your entire computer after each crash. Crash the driver, watch the heaven FPS at the intro. Restart. Look at it now. Mine is about a 5-7FPS difference and this is repeatable with each driver crash. Makes overclocking this card even a larger headache.
