Also just to make sure, you restarted your computer and/or reset precision overclock after the driver crash? After your driver crashes it screws up your OC in precision and heaven will only get about 90% of the normal frames. Making unstable overclocks seem stable. I've just been restarting my computer after every crash... If I don't I can do +190/+500 stable, but as soon as I restart... +140/+500 crashes immediately. EVGA rep posted and that the behavior is normal.
EDIT: I just had a driver crash and tried "reseting" the overclock in precision but it still did not restore 100% performance. Seems like you have to restart your entire computer after each crash. Crash the driver, watch the heaven FPS at the intro. Restart. Look at it now. Mine is about a 5-7FPS difference and this is repeatable with each driver crash. Makes overclocking this card even a larger headache.

Interesting, no I did not restart.

By the way it seems at stock I was getting 46fps and not 43fps, so the performance jump was not much... frown.gif

Do you think OC'ing the memory will help in performance?

I'll restart and see if I can get more than those 49fps obtained, thanks!

Edit:

Restarting didn't increase performance.

Maybe I need to OC the memory as well, it seems all you guys are OC'ing it, I'll give it a try.

+0 to +500 resulted in a 3FPS increase on the opening on the heaven benchmark for me.

I tested 120 TDP, 125 TDP, 130 TDP, and 132 TDP. Restarted inbetween each attempt and all were not stable. They all crashed at the exact same stage in heaven. frown.gif

Alright this looks better. biggrin.gif

700

That was 100% stable, I will try higher clocks, but so far very impressed, this is now a real +15% performance boost on stock volts! thumb.gif

How many loops did you run? It's been taking about 4-5 loops of heaven for it to crash mine unless it's really unstable. I just don't enable the benchmark mode and let it run.

I've set my memory to +0 and core to +150. Fan curve is adjusted to keep the card at 68-69C. TDP is 132%. I'm at 3 loops stable now, even after restarting, yet yesterday these exact same settings crashed instantly. I suspect drivers need to mature a little more.

EDIT: Crashed on loop 4. I'm debating exchanging it. Not even a 15% overclock is unacceptable in my eyes. EVGA said people should get 150-200 on the core.

Well I do the Benchmark run which has 26 sections/zones/maps/loops however you call it. tongue.gif

Seems stable, playing Battlefield 3 (Which was much harder on my GTX580's than Unigine Heaven when OC'ing) and it's all good with that OC. biggrin.gif

Haven't tried higher memory, but so far I saved this OC profile, pretty nice. tongue.gif

you and half the other gtx 680 owners probably feel this way.. im stuck at +170 and about +580 memory fan @ 75 percent bout 69c tops

It takes 4 loops of the 26 sections for it to crash at 150 core for me. So if your card is like mine you might be a little unstable. 135 core can go for hours...

Why does precision claim +150 is 1234MHz core? When GPU-Z claims 1209MHz?

1059+150 is 1209. Seems like precision is throwing out another 25MHz higher than what I have it set, which could be why I can't get +150 stable...?

You are are +170 which is the middle ground of what EVGA said people are getting. I'm at 135, which is 15MHz less then the lowest average. I also can't even +520 without it crashing instantly. +510 also crashes after a few minutes.

I would be 100% happy with +170/+580, that seems very good.

1059+159 is 1218. Regardless of temps these programs report 1234 and 1209. *shrug*.

Mine does the complete 26 loops just fine, else I would not be posting benchmark results as it would fail. thumb.gif

So far +150Mhz Core Clock and +400Mhz Memory Clock with 130% Power Target seems 100% stable.

Will try more core clock, and then I'll play with some more memory clock. biggrin.gif
